Ulquiorra outclassed Ichigo in every single way. Ichigo literally had no chance to win that fight.
As for all his other fights, then that complaint could be made. Although when he did use his bankai, it destroyed his body, so he could just be not using it much to not repeat that problem.

This is what I think, too. He used the max speed against Byakuya and it fucked him up hardcore, so he knows to keep it in moderation now.

Ulquiorra was probably only outclassed by Aizen in strength anyway, I don't see any of the other Espada being as strong as his second release. Since there was no evidence that Aizen actually did know about it, he probably was the strongest one.

didn't Coyote Starrk even say when he became Resurrección with Lilynette his power wasn't any where close to what it was once before? (been able to kill other Hollows by been alive is pretty freaking powerful)

Yeah, I always took it as Ulquiorra being the strongest Espada with his second release. It's never directly stated but I think Kubo did enough to let you assume so.

Not that it really matters too much, but isn't this the first time that they've killed humans? It seems a little bit darker now that they are not fighting hollows or evil soul reapers, but flesh and blood humans.

But this wouldn't be the first time they've had to do it; they had to wipe out most of the Quincys in the past, as the Quincy method of dispatching Hollows was a risk to fabric of reality or something like that.

Quincy were literally destroying the Hollow instead of purifying them like a zanpakuto does (by default, I guess) which somehow has the potential of disturbing the balance of souls between planes. We've seen no indication in the show of that ever coming close to happening, and I doubt shinigami randomly killing some humans is any more disastrous than natural event or terrorist attack. Just going to assume the acts are typically frowned upon because your average human would be unable to fight back. Fullbringers aren't your average humans, though...

Much as I've enjoyed the last few chapters, I think they run the risk of becoming boring if it's just going to continuously go "talktalktalktalk by fullbringer - attack - counter-talk by shinigami - scared/intimidated/dead fullbringer". This needs to be moved on if all the fights are going to be one-sided, so we can see what the final big bad is going to be, or aizen gets released or whatever.

Look at Renji, busting his ass for 17 months. I was just about to get cheezed out by the fact that they were getting bitched by Arrancar and all of a sudden they're hard-asses, but if they were all spending 17 months doing harsh training to fight Aizen, I can reasonably see them getting stronger.

I still find myself wondering what these guys were doing for the previous hundred years before or however long they've lived, if you can improve hugely in 17 months.

I guess the demand never came up before.

Because he was the strongest -thing- they'd ever had to go against and there's no sense in staying at the same level of power when you now know just how big the world can be? I'd be training my ass off too - remember, he's been imprisoned. You think he couldn't get out if he wanted to? Best to train for the worst-case scenerio.

Its like the DBZ filler; big bad villian isn't so bad if he breaks out of prison and gets bitched by people who have long-since surpassed him.
