i'm confused to why people find it hard for renji to say he's been training to be able to fight/withstand the strongest person currently imprisoned if his bitch ass escaped can't go crying to ichigo since he's kinda useless prior to this current arc, none the less Ikkaku and Renji are starting to be welcomed into the boss section keep it up boys!

I can kinda understand it considering his backstory. Out of everyone, he's the one (at least the only one I can remember off the top of my head) who has always had someone to strive to beat. Whereas someone like Kenpachi has always been at the top of the ridiculously strong group, Renji always been weaker than and wanted to beat Byakuya, so it's not like he suddenly knew there was someone strong out there that he needed to surpass. Still though, he did achieve Bankai so we know he's not a slacker. Also, I don't remember how much time was between the Soul Society arc and when they all went to Hueco Mundo, so no idea how much training he would have gotten in between them.

Of course, all this is ignoring the fact that we still don't know if the Fullbrings are actually strong or just a bunch of scrubs.

This saga feels like a filler now, lol. Happy everyone has improved vastly however-- would have sucked for sure if everyone just stayed the same and did nothing. It's kinda like the training everyone did for the Winter War... people just assumed no one would train, then everyone (IRL) started wondering where all the huge power boosts came from in comparison to Ichigo.

I'm with Hirokei in thinking this is just a plot device for ichigo getting his powers back, but I liked the chapter. Don't understand the hate. Ikkaku finally stepped up and became more of what his division embodies: berzerkers basically shrugging off damage. Hoping Renji becomes even slightly useful now. He was a punching bag and mobile stairs for Ichigo thus far.

lol yeah. I actually laughed out loud. I always wonder about when the translators put "fuck" in though. There's suppose to be no such word in Japanese. Anyway I wouldn't think they wouldn't let them have harsh swearing in a mainstream magazine like Shonen Jump.

Bleach filler arc just ended today in the anime and I got to say, it was actually pretty good and ended on a high note. Best filler arc by far with great quality in animation for the most part.

It had its moments, but it also had its share of crappy episodes and a lot of too short or off-screened fights. Could've done without the Dr. Wily styled return of the downed reigai, too.
