I'm kind of indifferent since he's like a wannabe Kenpachi with a pussy side (hiding his bankai). Overall, I'm glad the fights are at least going quickly for now.

Looks like they'll be starting this arc next week with the anime, too. This week's managed to make me feel bad for Ichigo even though we knew the power loss would have to happen to set the arc up.

Renji and Ikkaku don't appear to be wearing the captain's robe at any point of this arc. Would be weird for them not to have it on when the other captains do..

They're still 2nd and 3rd seats. Neither is stronger than their captain. Ikkaku would never be under anyone other than Ken.

He's like Ken, rather have a prolonged fight with someone than use full power. Even in Ken's last fight, it was one handed and patch on, so even if he tried to make the fight last longer there is no way it would have because the guy was so weak.

The whole I hidez mai bankai even though half of Soul Society knows is old and stale. Would've been nice to see some actual character progression with him and have him Captain a new squad with a slight different outlook on life, since you know, he got his ass beat like a bitch last time.
