Only Kubo would write a databook talking about how Grimmjow died only to have him not be dead... and yet Stark was felled by one measly stab to the chest.

Grimmjow's case makes no sense. Dude was near dead, get's pwned by a dude atleast twice his strength and he's somehow alive later on.
Stark's does when you're left to assume the caliber of refinement of a long-time captain such as Shunsui. They might've been fucking around at the beginning and for all intents and purposes, his shikai is a very cynical joke in it's own way, however a dude who lived and trained for several hundred years should be able to kill someone in one strike when the opportunity presents itself.
You would hope so anyway.
If the Soul Society can patch up a person sliced in two, I'm sure they can do something similar in Hueco Mundo.Grimmjow's case makes no sense. Dude was near dead, get's pwned by a dude atleast twice his strength and he's somehow alive later on.
Far as Stark goes, I could just see him going, "Eh, fuck it, let's take a nap..." after it was thought he was killed. Future Nel could be good, though, especially if they don't keep her chibi'd.
I've suspected ever since Aizen got sent to hell that the next arc would either be abotu him escaping, or going to hell... And I suspect this arc will take place at a different place in hell than the movie. If it takes place in hell, that is. I'm guessing he's taking inspiration from "The Divine Comedy".
I suppose it's also possible it takes place in the king's domain. I'd like to think that that will be the last and final Arc, though, so if it does - Yay, it will finally end?
Well, it if takes place in Hell, he could bring them back without any trouble. After all; they end up in Hell when they die, no?
No. If you remember, only hollows that were sinful and evil before they became hollows are sent to hell. Menos hollows are purified just like any other, according to earlier chapters.
What's funny is that Kubo never really said what happens to the Arrancar when they are purified nor do they say what happens to the higher class Menos. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that Kubo has forgotten zanpakutos even purify hollow spirits. I think he just wanted to turn it literally into DBZ with pretty swords.
Not a single arrancar since the whole HM debacle started has even dissolved into millions of souls or anything. They just die.
edit: Typed to slow!
Aizen got sent to Hell? Aizen's in a soul society prison right now.
And as far as arrancar's in Hell, it would be crazy tricky, not that Kubo thought about any of this but;
Hell is for those who have truly done wrong. I would think that killing Hollows and having a different view/opinion than Soul Society doesnt equate to deserving to be in Hell. mostly because SS doesn't get to choose where the person goes. If they did get to choose, I'm sure Hell would be a whole lot more full. But odds are the force that decides where a soul goes doesn't give a shit about SS and its squabbles.
Second thing to note is that all of the arrancar are not a single soul. They are a giant mass of souls probably into the thousands. If an arrancar did go to hell, would it be all the souls he's composed of, or just the soul who took dominance?
We haven't seen a single arrancar die and have the gate open for them. Of course, maybe when they die they first turn into a thousand ghosts and then are judged. But we still don't know what happens to a soul in SS after it is killed. And I doubt we ever will.
According to what I've been reading on other forums, the interview in which Kubo said Grimmjow was dead was a fake. I'm not sure any of the databooks has him listed as dead either.
Is no one else pumped to finally get to see Unohana fight? I've been waiting for this moment my entire life.
I'm curious, sure, but don't expect to be overwhelmed.
edit: nevermind, found it in the link
Unohana SHOULD be one of the stongest.
Anyway; I'm rather sure Aizen were sentenced to spend (however many years) in Hell, wasn't he?
As or Arrancars dying and hell; you're right. I forgot about the soul purifying thing. It's been so long since we saw it... The only Arrancars that we saw in Hell int he movie were the ones killed by non-gami's, weren't they?
No. Soul Society has imprisoned Aizen in SS.
SS has no control over Hell and definitely can't send people there just because they want to.
oooh, wait, you're right. I just went back and reread the chapter; He was sentenced to 18,800 years in "Muken", the Underground Prison. That's why I seem to remember it being hell.
Unohana has always been one of my favorites. Going to be interesting to see if the manta is her shikai or bankai.
I thought the manta was established to be her Shikai.
