It can't be that. The whole beef Shinigami have with Quincy is that they were obliterating the Hollows--removing them form existence completely, kind of violating the supernatural equivalent to the law of the Conservation of Energy.

If the Quincy were simply absorbing the Hollows, it would be no different form the formation processes of the Menos, which would not threaten creation.

I dont see what the complaints about the new shinigamis is about. I for one found HILARIOUS when they got ganked in less than 3 seconds. And really when you take into account that there's an entire party of humans that are captain class at minimum the town probably counts as a high level dungeon. But soulsociety is low on captains so they generally can't spare experienced ones so they're basically hoping that the little guys leech exp off of Ichigo's massacres.

Not really sure how good of a villain the Quincys will be since the last arc focused on humans with super powers and they all got bitched in as little as one panel.

You never know though, despite piss-poor storytelling the Fullbringer arc was ultimately about a group of humans who were the 'prey' of higher forces (the shinigami), or so they seemed to insist. That could be a setup to introduce another group who have also become the prey of the shinigami in the Quincy.

It's all speculation anyway, but I don't think it's worth considering the fact that they're human as a reason they wont be able to stand up to the shinigami, surely if there was a whole bunch of quincy they could pretty much disintegrate soul society with that special move uryu did way back.

Oh and btw, this was what i was referring to as the bit where it mentions the 'holy war' rather than the actual "Thousand Year Blood War" title:

All I can say is; More villains wearing white? Every enemy Ichigo has faced was all white.
Hollow Masks are white, Ishida wore white, Byakuya wore the white robe and in their final battle in SS arc is was "White something vs Black something", Aizen picked all white clothes for his HM peoples.
I think Renji, Ikkaku, Ulqiorra's final form, and Ginjou have been the only people he has fought that werent all white.

Ret-con on the whole Ishida Ryuken being the "Last Quincy"? At least until he restored Uryuu's Quincy powers? $1USD on these Quincy being escaped experiments from Kurotsuchi's lab after he tried to combine some Quincy/Hollow/Shinigami DNA or some shit.

Not really a retcon. Anyone can say they are "The Last Quincy" or whatever. The fact that Ryuken is a huge egotistical douche that considered himself as the "last", despite his son being a capable Quincy as well before and after the loss of his powers. He likely doesn't acknowledge that there are other Quincy out there either that's on his level.

Anything goes, but I have a feeling this will go the route of Bountou-- I.E. Some specific set of Quincy hid away during the massacre and now they are back for revenge. This opens up the option of them destroying the balance of Soul Society, leading up to the final battle with the Zero Squad and/or the Spirit King as the final boss. Or maybe something else even more sinister.

White is the colour of death in alot of Asian cultures so that's presumably why.

I love how Kubo has tried to retcon his arcs into making it seem like each one has had a "theme" revolving around a character.

The rescue Rukia arc, the rescue Orihimme arc, the useless Chad arc (wait, that's every arc), and now obviously an Ishida-centered arc. It'd be brilliant if it even made any sense. At the end of every one of these arcs, none of the characters they revolved around did anything important nor did they even get any essential development. It's all been about Ichigo swangin' the sword.

What's even funnier is that it's obvious Kubo is back to his same old tactic: Make it incredibly obvious what is coming next and try to make it a twist after you give the entire arc away in the first few chapters, followed by long-drawn out fights and zero development.

I'd really like to see this arc go somewhere, but I have a feeling it will be just another arc where Ichigo has some awesome power and all of his friends still do nothing important while the shinigami come running in to show off some powers followed by a short Unohana fight (after the embarassment that was the Aizen vs. Yama, Yoruichi, and Isshin fight), underwhelming bankais (we've been promised every captain bankai by the end of the manga) a few new kido spells and new characters that still will do nothing.

I gave the LSR arc a chance, but after reading it in retrospect it really didn't accomplish anything other than getting Ichigo his powers back. Chad didn't learn anything about himself. Orihimme didn't gain some awesome resolve. Hell, Ishida fucking disappeared from the Ginjo fight altogether at the end.

Bleach would be so much better if it were more like Naruto and everyone saw some sort of development.

Don't think for a moment I'm trying to give Kubo credit for any sort of depth, but maybe it's all about Ichigo swangin' a sword... from the perspectives of each of the supporting cast?

Hopefully, Ichigo is going to use this opportunity to consolidate his 58 differents (and mostly unrelated) powers that he acquired over the course of the manga.

Just watch, Ichigo is going to find out he also has Quincy powers that allow him to use a bow. Then he'll be the ultimate ghost samurai. Then we'll find out that Quincy are just shinigami that focus their power into bows instead of Zanpakutos and that the hollow obliteration was a lie from the spirit king to eliminate the competition.
