Ironically enough, I was curious the other day and went through the manga in Barnes & Noble on my lunch break. I blasted through the Planet Namek/Freeza saga in a little less than 2 hours. It really did feel short compared to the anime. It also makes me laugh because you can actually follow the action scenes drawn and the manga uses multiple panels per page, unlike Kubo's 1 panel/blank page cop-out.

Definitely would recommend a read if you liked the show and have the time.

Bleach music is kind of in this weird phase where it's trying new stuff, but also doing remixes of older things. I actually think there was a Number One remix at some point, but I may be confusing it.

Yes, indeed. The youtube of the song had like 20 pages of comments referencing the chapter when it came out.

I was buttdevastated when they didn't play it. They played the "new" remix of it though, Choukkaku.

Speaking of songs, anyone know if the theme that plays when the Shinigami exit thru the Gate to see Ichigo 2 episodes ago is called? Or if it's been released, didn't recognize it.

It's called Cometh the Hour from the fourth movie's soundtrack, but it looks the anime either played the track without its lyrics or spliced the parts that didn't have them.

Can anyone recommend a good fansub for Bleach? Been following SGKK releases but they're getting terribly slow. Over a month behind now. If it wasn't for crunchy's censoring (or rather inaccurate interpretation of the emotional level conveyed by the japanese that can only be portrayed in similar light through cursing in english) I would watch that... but is there any other alternative I'm not aware of?

Bleach anime is so poorly drawn compared to the manga... but then again, the same can probably be said for every 300+ chapter anime that still has a anime going.

While that is true, I find that most justifications for 'why the manga is better' are blatant lies.

I've recently been heckled by one person who keeps trying to annoy me by saying "Bleach is bad bleach is terrible blah blah" and more recently, he's been IMing me constantly about how manga is better than anime for Bleach (Funny, isn't it?). One of his examples was Noitra (SP) putting his finger in Orihime's mouth in the manga as opposed to using his hand to cover the mouth in the anime. I asked why he likes the manga more ffor that scene than in the anime. He says he likes to see the author's original intent (That which comes first and the manga came first). I then asked which he would choose if the had anime used the finger and the manga had used the hand. He said he would pick the anime. Clearly, what he wanted was the fingering and not the 'original intent' since that was the only thing that changed (original intent is the same) in the hypothetical and he claimed he would pick the anime.

I personally prefer the anime since I like the animation. For example, when he uses Getsugatensho to part the clouds. You just don't get that same effect when looking at still images.

Now he's trying to bitch to me about how difficult formal logic is.

I watched Bleach movie last night, and that shit was animated more poorly than half of the series I'm watching this season. I can't speak about normal episodes, but if it's any indication, it's probably not worth watching.

I find most movies poor compared to the best of their series episodes. I don't know why, but that's just how it seems to me.

Sounds like your friend has superior tastes. You are choosing to ignore a source material in favor of a reinterpretation, any other point is irrelevant.
