The captains are probably going to get thier bankai's back via the reiatsu that they gave ichigo in the previous arc.
If the novel is any indication, the powerlevels are about to get CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZYYYYYYY in this arc
Spoiler: show
What novel is this? Sounds like a crazy fan-fic, but most manga can be considered a "reined-in" fan-fic.
lol, kenpachi ftw
I could write a story that says Shunsui is gay and Ukitake used to be his lover and Kubo would nod his head and go "Yes, that is canon".
One interesting thing of note that might of been forgotten by most; The order to invade Soul Society for the Vandenreich came because Ichigo was held up in Hueco Mundo. They considered him one of the five special war potentials they apparently feared.
Which perhaps leave Kenpachi, Yamamoto, and maybe Unohana. Fifth being Urahara, maybe? Hmm, all of which we need to see bankai from, I think.
Ichigo
Kenpachi
Uryuu
Older Ichigo
Older Uryuu
Doubt they would want to piss off Yamamoto if they were concerned about him.
Kind of a given they'd have to face him if they planned to wipe out Soul Society, though.![]()
I did not expect Kirge (the Quincy) to still be alive.. damn.. I mean damn. Guy is a BOSS. Urahara even thought he killed him.
He asked Orihime and Chad to "check the corpse" for that bankai stealing thing. So I assumed he thought he was dead. Could be a translation error. Idk.
Urahara said he was careless to have thought he wouldn't be able to move. Probably forgot Quincy's can use that puppet technique to continue fighting way past their limits. Ishida used it against Mayuri too, said something to the effect that it allows Quincy's to fight until they're destroyed into dust.
Then again, that was only a fan-novel. From what I remember, he said that "the writer did a good job figuring out Kenpachi's power" and "why he was hiding it" - he didn't say that the novel was 100% correct. Where's the quote about him saying it's 100% correct?
Fact of the matter is, even if he agrees that it's realistic, doesn't mean it's 100% correct and that the two Kenpachi's are stronger than Yamamato or Zero Squad.
It's not a typical fan novel- it's published by the publisher of SJ, and it's been advertised in SJ as well, so it has official backing. It's canon status hasn't been verified though, with only a single (translated) comment from Kubo alluding to Kenpachi being stronger then we've been lead to believe so far. For the time being, I'm sticking with what Kubo actually puts down on paper himself.
Back to the manga: 3 things could happen now, i) Urahara fights Kirge- he has the Bankai stealing medal so he can fight without fear of Bankai theft and we'll actually get to see Benihime in action, ii) Grimm-jeta arrives to put down the injured Quincy, or iii) Nel evolves into Airhead-Nel again and does whatever it is that sexy centaurs do.
I'm going by whatever comes out in the manga. Even Kubo's own databooks had bits that were famously mistranslated to mean something completely different. Plus that Kenpachi information just sounds straight up silly as shit.
SHIROSAKI, PLEASEEEE
(i know, i know.)
Maybe Grimmjow?
