They haven't even tried yet though, Thats the problem. He could just go... "Bind" whatever, See if it works or not, and move on. I suppose what you're saying makes sense though.

There is some really powerful Kido though, Remember the one Aizen tried to use on Ichigo? That'd probably take out one of the Quincy. I'm not saying he could get of an Incantation like that, But Kido isn't exactly fodder bolts in terms of power, they can be pretty useful, I'd say some Bankai level, and Byakuya is suppose to be a master of Kido.

Well, the Shinigami did fight the Quincy in the past, but I can't recall if those who're fighting now were old enough to be around when it happened. But Black Coffin was a 90+ kido and while Byakuya has shown a higher proficiency than some of the other captains, he's mainly stuck to a few spells (Think the white lightning, blue fire, and the light bind thingy). This could mean his arsenal is limited, or best tailored to his fighting style. It's possible he isn't able to use 90s level stuff, let alone possible "forbidden" things like Tessai or Hachi know as old Kido Corps members. This is probably a case where the "level" system is a bit of a misnomer since a shinigami could theoretically "skip" some, sort of like how Renji blows with kido, but could kinda do the red fire, which I think is low-30s.

The fuck happened to Kido in this manga? I mean I know that little Japanese boys want to be Samurai and not Wizards, but shit, Kido Corps anyone? Hachigen? Do they exist? Ever tried throwing magical DEATH BOMBS from long range against these guys? Oh, no, that's right, its perfectly acceptable to just throw mass fodder bodies at the bad guys in an attempt to disgust them so much that they leave.

Just so funny how much they emphasize kido until the ideal enemy to use it against (The Quincy) appears, then suddenly nobody remembers it exists and try to use CLOSE-RANGE ATTACKS against LONG DISTANCE FIGHTERS.

Hachi would just be like "Hmm... I think I'll put a barrier around his head". Boom. Done fighting.

It'd be better if they just had someone go "Hmm, let's try kido first" and then the Quincy absorb it, deflect it, steal it, whatever... then the Captains go "Well, no choice... let's use Bankai and find out why they steal it".

Using Bankai first before trying anything else is just fucking retarded. It'd be like if Goku went against the androids and Trunks was like "Yea, don't use Super Saiyan they can absorb energy" and rather than go "Hmm, I have a dozen other techniques I can try first" he goes "Hmm, think I'll go Super Saiyan and fire off a Kamehameha".

So far it's one fight, so I'm not exactly willing to say Kubo has forgotten Kido. I'm sure Byakuya is a master of Kido too since he's a captain, but his real strength has always been his speed, so is it really a surprise that he tried to use close range attacks? I'm sure next issue we'll jump to another captain since I'm assuming this is going to be like the Fake Karakura arc, so hopefully we go to another captain who actually shows us something worthwhile.

Who am I kidding.. all the captains are gonna get owned in time for Ichigo to show up...

That makes no sense. You want them to wait until they find a boss they cannot beat with kido until they learn how to seal bankai? That's a terrible tactic. Use bankai against the fodder, learn how to overcome the bankai sealing, and then defeat them. That leaves you free to bankai against the main boss.

Also, the problem with Goku and the androids was specifically tied to the disease, not his approach. It took Vegeta in SS mode to defeat one android and he intentionally bluffed the others into running away while he regained his energy. In short, SS sped up effect of the disease, but SS was also necessary.

I always thought of Kido attacks as pure spirit particle attacks. Which would mean the Quincy could just nom-nom on them incredibly easily.
