I mean it kind of makes sense. Nigga owns three dudes on the way there without trying and he's the type of guy always looking for a real fight even if it means dying. He's definitely not going to waste time on gutter trash while there are bigger opponents to pick fights with. Even if it means not saving tons of other people.

Ken won't lose. He's going to push them all back, there will be 20 chapters of mourning over the dead, Ichigo going into training, battling with his inner self and all that bullshit, all to lead up for the "real" final battle. It always happens that way. Besides, Kenny is a fucking boss.

Think it's been long enough for me not to spoiler now, but yeah she along with the rest of the humans need to get their power ups on because they're just a pile of crap these days. So far 3/5 of the original kids have been messed up good and we're like 10 chapters in. Kubo even alluded to the fact that Inoueueue and Chad were stronger based on the FB arc, but naturally absolutely nothing came of it.

Rukia needs to get some badass white ice queen bankai, inoue needs to pull some crazy fullbring fairy shit and chad needs to go full demon mode. It's already looking like Ishida's going to get a lot stronger soon (based on that quincy/hollow hybrid saying it was impossible that his power was higher than ishida's or something), the rest of them need to catch the fuck up. Hell, have them steal some bankais, I DO NOT CARE.

If Byakuya is really dead then I gotta say Kubo did a fine job with it. I genuinely felt bad and really wanted Renji to save him. The panels were sad as shit.

Byakuya and Ken were the only 2 fights where I felt this nigga could actually lose. There has been a lot of relationship growth between ichigo and byakuya, as well as ken, so if he really IS dead, it's going to impact Ichigo, maybe add some fuel to the fire.

I don't know how I feel anymore with Kubo dropping bitches left and right. Killing fodder characters if fine but Byakuya? The dude is always there wrecking shit without any emotions.

Keep in mind that the information that Byakuya is dead is coming from the enemy. Until they show his lifeless corpse and have a funeral he isn't dead.
It's interesting to see if the Bankai that was taken/stolen will still be usable.
If any of the information about the relationship between sword and owner are true, the Quincy should not be able to use the Bankai after the owner dies. Because the owner and the sword (all abilities are essentially the same thing) If the owner dies the Bankai dies with them.
Of course, Kubo could be uber trolling everyone by killing off all the favorites so he can end the story.

I hated Byakuya at first (as I think we were supposed to in the beginning) but despite being a pretty stiff character, those small glimpses of emotions he showed every now and then to me were huge on showing how much he changed when it came to bureacracy and stuff like that.

I am personally sad if he truly does die but this is Bleach and I don't think he will stay dead. We'll see though.

Touching back on my last post, Kubo coulda used that moment to make Rukia go batshit insane and have her go chainspelling motherfuckers or somethin but they deemed it necessary to just have her job instead. Renji doesn't need help with that and even when he does job, you're like "Damn Renji, you almost had it that time" and then you're overcome with feels.

Meanwhile, Rukia is part of why kitchen jokes exist which is unfortunate because I thought she was a pretty cool protagonist in the first season.
