heh, just read back on it. unless he says it somewhere else, he never even used the word captain. just shinigami.

I didn't say all captains were at the limit.... im saying in terms of a "level" the captain level is the highest a shinigami can reach. There is nothing beyond captain, unless you turn to the powers of a master hollow. The manga posted is a good example of him saying there is a boundary, I think for once the Anime actually says a few more words as well, but I can't remember.
the point of the argument that I'm making at least is, is that saying captain level is the highest level isn't really a valid point of strength. all it is is a title given out to the leaders of the 13 squads.
Also, I dont ever remember Aizen saying anything about that. just what was in the link i gave my last post. Maybe he did and i just dont remember tho.
Using the ranks of the Gotei 13 is a very, very poor indication of power levels. It is only a command heirarchy, nothing more. Consider the admission requirements for Captain status:I didn't say all captains were at the limit.... im saying in terms of a "level" the captain level is the highest a shinigami can reach.
1.) Captain Proficiency Test, which requires Bankai. While this tests the epitome of Zanjutsu, the proficiency required of other three are left vague.
2.) Recommendation from 6 or more Captains, with approval from three of the remaining (unless it's 9 recommendations).
3.) Defeat of a Captain in a one-on-one bout in front of his division.
By far, the "easiest" path to captain is via a heavy bias in Zanjutsu.
At best, your run of the mill Captain is at best on the same level as the Kido Corps and Special Forces with this specialization bias in mind.
Aizen's power level didn't come from being a Captain. It came from being an utter badass in all four fields. After all, it's probably not every day you see someone lay waste with their zanpakuto, then going to a no-incantation Black Coffin.
holy shit think of the fights coming up
Great episode, good fights coming up! Shinigami Illustrated Picture Book at the end was funny too. >.>
Nice knowing you Nnoitara, haha...
So supposedly Zaraki's huge power-up (for now) is... using two hands to wield his sword instead of 1...I really hope that's not all it's going to take to win -_-;
Don't you know, he wants to apply 1.5 times his Strength modifier to extra damage against Nnoitra!
I loled. That would fit just perfectly with his character, even though there's no way the mangaka would do something so anticlimactic at this point.Originally Posted by Nuriko

I see Kenpachi as more of a Blood Weapon type. I mean, you can't just give all Shinigami Meikyo Shisui just because they (mostly) use Daito-size katanas. Incidentally, the way i see it, Yamamoto has manafont, Soifon has hundredfists, Byakuya has chainspell, Unohana has astral flow... Am I taking this too seriously?
No, not at all.Originally Posted by Charla

lolpup
lawl kenpachi. What next, He'll jump with two legs instead of one?
Blood Weapon? Nah, Mighty Strikes fights Zaraki better IMO.Originally Posted by Charla

Mighty whiffs seems more like Marechiyo, though (big guy with the crackers. Soifon's Lieutenant).
Let's see here...
Gin: Eagle Eye
Hitsugaya: Spirit Surge, duh
Aizen: All of them! He's the new AV
Tousen: ?
Ulquorria: ?
Grimmjow: Probably hundred fists
Szrael: familiar
Aaroniero: azure lore
Yoruichi: perfect dodge
Urahara: um... chainspell?
Chad: invincible
Orihime: either benediction or astral flow, hard to say really
Yammy: ?
Nel: ?
Most of the other significant shinigami haven't had a chance to fight on scnreen. We could get into other Lieutenants and Bounto, but I'd rather not.
Lol Kenpachi is such a beast.
spoilers are saying:
Basically Im just gonna have to use 2 hands, havent done that in a while.. .
lol
Err.. While I suppose it could apply here as well, I do believe that was a reference to D&D 3.xE, wherein wielding a one-handed weapon with both hands would grant a 1.5x bonus to Strength modifier on damage (a longsword with Str18 would be 1d8+4, two-handed 1d8+6). Though the associations with FFXI are interesting.
I have to agree that Bankai doesn't really fit Zaraki. I'm not saying it won't happen (in fact, it seems kind of likely the way things have been going), but it seems more fitting for him to take a "mortal" wound and use the opening to kill or grievously wound Nnoitora. If he does have a Bankai, I predict something oppressive rather than straight out super-lazors (overpowering fear aura perhaps; it would be effective as it has been stated that the Arrancar are RULED by fear; later, he uses it on Aizen and gets his legs torn off).
Isn't it common sense that 2arms would have greater force than just 1?
I can see it now.. Nnoitra starts to block Kenpachi's sword, using all 4 of his scythes the way he has been, and Ken just breaks them all in half.
