He likes to fight strong people, if the idea is to eventually attack zero squad, why wouldn't he?

Could be that the real Juha Bach did beat Kenpachi and then left his subordinate to imitate him and stall Yama, noticing it was the perfect opportunity to go talk to Aizen.
That's not far-fetched at all IMO. Whether this was Kubo's intention though is a whole different story lol.
Makes sense. Probably did that to make you bitch at him about Kenpachi but then realize 'oh yeah'
On the other hand, Kenpachi has a history of holding back for fun. Plus his "power" to match other people's could also backfire if he's caught parroting a weakling and some boss shows up and just gibs him before he could adapt. Either way, I doubt it'll get explained and am okay with it not getting explained to avoid turtling the plot pace like this past month felt.
if kenpachi is dead, i am going to rip kubo's throat out. fuck the rest of this series.
I didn't notice chapter was out today..
Man.. I can't believe the old man got beat so easily even without his bankai. At least I guess. It just showed him getting slashed at the end. Though SS is screwed now that he has his bankai. ><
You cant believe he got creamed even thought everything before even this arc pointed to that conclusion?
Damn you people....
The only logical explanation I can think of is this:
- Juha Bach beat Kenpachi. The real one.
- Juha Bach goes to see Aizen. Royd or Loyd or whatever imitates Bach and gets found by Yamamoto.
Two things here:
- Yamamoto is really mad. REALLY mad.
- Yamamoto knows how strong Juha Bach is. He thinks this guy is Juha Bach. Therefore there is no reason for him to not Bankai and wipe him up. Plus as said before, he was mad. Really mad.
that nigga was mayad.
We probably won't know what's really going on until they cut to Urahara.
I'm guessing the Kenpachi deal is this:
Royd copied Juha's reiatsu. Kenpachi, when he showed up, matched the Reiatsu of Royd, who is weak. This allowed Royd to easily beat him, as he copied that of Juha.
It's not that hard to imagine Kenpachi can only copy the real Reiatsu of his opponent, and not the "fake" one, considering it's probably the first time he meets someone with that ability.
I doubt he "copies" their power, but rather lowers his own to match theirs. He doesn't seem the type to have any sort of special ability, just raw power.
Where are you people getting this Kenpachi "copies" other people's strength? O_o
Was in a databook or some shit. He was meant to have the highest strength or something.
It was a fanfiction. Kubo said the book was surprisingly close to the truth, not that it all was 100% true. Kenpachi (as far as anything Kubo has written) does Not copy people's power.
Edit: Nevermind, Eurell nailed it.
I mean raise his powers to match his opponent, which is what Kubo said "was surprisingly close to the truth". Either way; it's the only thing I can come up with as to how Kenpachi lost.
What Kubo was saying was that Kenpachi's potential is unlimited and that with each strong opponent he fights his power rises to meet that of his opponent's, not that he copies power. He was trying to draw parallels between him and Ichigo.
