Only thing I didn't like about the chapter was that we went from super strong Yama to one-shotted Yama.

How can anyone be believably strong enough to kill Bach if he can one-shot Yama, something Aizen couldn't even do?

Yama killed Yama, really. As for the explosion, I thought that was just JP SFX art rather than any hint it's a portal or something. That's partly why it being Ichigo doesn't make sense to me, even though it is an inevitability.
