And of course Shinigami have organs. As said before, they need to eat. Maybe perhaps not for calories and such, but for rietsu, but they still do need to eat, which requires all those organs that are required to eat. They can talk, so obviously they make use of the organs required to talk. They can hear, so they use their ear organs, and they can see so we know they can use their eyeballs. We know they have muscles because they move. And we know from Mayuri's poison that they have a nervous system as that is what the poison would attack. They also have blood. Lots and lots and lots and lots of blood.

And the nazi guy in hueco mundo was destroying / absorbing everyone because "everything is spirit particles in here".

Point is, if Kubo so desired, he could write his way out of Yama being dead by having someone reconstruct his spirit or something; I sure hope everything stays in the current fashion, were all beings are human like (organs and shit).

If someone could "reconstruct" a body, it would have been done by now.
Could he still live? Yes. However it is probably very unlikely.
And if Quincy could absorb Shinigami, all of the Shinigami would have been absorbed the second the Quincy invaded, both now and 1000 years ago.

Which was pretty dumb, since he could regenerate his eyeballs in base form, and the strongest aspect of his super secret second release form was supposed to be... regeneration.

as i said above he said to himself that his body took to much damage in a short space of time making it impossible for his body to regenerate and hold his cells together, basically ichigo fucked him so hard even his molecules knew who the boss was

Actually, he said that he could regenerate his body, but the he couldn't regenerate the organs. Since those were damaged, that is why the bodily regeneration was "just a front" accordingly. That is how we know they not only exist, but are vital as well.

How about this as a crazy idea: kido healing techniques are just infinitely better then real world medicine. As long as Unohana or Orihime can get there soon enough then the damage inflicted doesn't really matter (Hinamori, Hiyori), while if those wounds are not tended to, then they're fatal (Gin, Ulquiorra). Kubo hasn't been *that* inconsistent in this regard (unless I've completely overlooked something).

I'd just assume they're not really combat-feasible entities. I can't recall if Hachi had a zanpakutou and I know we haven't seen one of Tessai. Otherwise, many are probably sub-5th seat in power, and thus useless in a fight like this.

Also recall how Mayuri... uh.... "reconstructs" people after totally dismantling them and such. Specifically he threatens to take apart and rebuild Nemu as punishment; also treats the wounds of Renji and Uryu after their confrontation with Szayelaporro, whose attacks targeted specific internal organs/tendons.

Putting bodies back together with magicks/quack medicine is one thing; willing a spirit that has left the body for its next life is another entirely. For this reason I feel Genryusai, Chojiro, and Byakuya are all very dead. :C

I actually hope they bring the whole idea of hollows (lol) back.

It's stupid to think Shinji and crew are getting owned in SS and haven't once thought out "Hmm... we have hollow powers".
