He still haven't release his haki as well...
You forgot to bring up the Gum Gum fruit that he ate, after making a wish for it from the Eternal Dragon. He does this to hatched his spirit egg, during his final battle with Naraku. (Spoiler: Naraku escapes, again.) The real problem is whats going to happen is when his body finally gives out and he wont be able to use Hiten Mitsurugi style anymore? However, by that point his time traveling daughter will try to help him, only to become corrupted because in the future she tripped and Ichigo doesn't help her up.
Also, Light Hawk Wings, Evas, water induced gender swaps, Death Notes, gas powered guitar, elixir of immortality, internet gang, Geass, Human Transmutation, Cyborg body parts, Stands, an Afro, Hokuto Shinken, a Robot Dinosaur, Devil Bat Ghost, drawing manga, a cat-bus and finally the ability to cum with the force of a thousand suns!
Like 2 decades of anime nostalgia in one post. Win.
Was I the only one that had to pause at the first page to laugh?

"An eruption of black reiatsu!! What on earth..?!"Spoiler: show
Me and the wifey were theory-crafting yesterday, I really hope Kubo goes the Isshin was a Shiba route. Shit would be bad ass and connect all kinds of dots.
What? You mean like how Ichigo is Shiba with blonde hair?
What's the relevance to Ichigo and the Shiba noble family? To me it's just a little something to give "depth" to the plot but it doesn't seem advance to story unless I'm missing something.
The fact that there is an insane resemblance between Ichigo and Kaien, to the point where Byakuya mentions that he looks like him. Many think Isshin was a Shiba, and his marrying a Quincy led to the fall of the family.
So in essence, it just re-enforces his birth ties to being a Shinigami which was pretty well confirmed after Isshin's first and second Shinigami appearances. I think it'll be something that's barely touched and overlooked if that's all there is too it.
Not sure where you're getting at. It would provide more back story to Isshin, someone we technically don't know anything about, and a little bit more history into soul society and its relation with Quincy's.
It'd also lend some legitimacy to Ichigo's power. In general, the noble families (of the 3 we've been introduced to: Kuchiki, Shihouin, and Isshin as a possible Shiba) have all been portrayed as basically captain-class shinigami. From there, we know Isshin lost his powers and we only have one reason why a shinigami would outside of the Maggot's Nest, and that very reason he passed on to Ichigo. So, I'd see the potential fall/disgrace being multifaceted, both in literal loss of power and social standing due to fraternizing with the then-enemy.
arus hit it on the head. it'd explain some of why he's so fucking strong for being so immature, shinigami-speaking. Also, hashes out Isshin's background, something we've been crying for since we first saw him rocking captain robes.
^ I want all of this to happen, in exactly that way. Maybe throw a plot twist here or there, but don't change that shit too drastically.
No early spoilers?
Thanks Arus, it's kinda what I was looking for.
