Byakuya actually had a whole death scene though. They showed his fight, he had his final words with Ichigo, they showed how he grew as a character and then shit went black for him. Good death scene.
Ken still has tons of room to grow, and got knocked out off screen. Im shocked anyone thought he was down for good.

I wonder if Unohana is going to become the new Captain Commander, since his last order was for Unohana to stay behind. Or if that order was just because she's so important due to her position as head healer. She's probably the strognest captain left among all squads, so it wouldn't surprise me if she's been groomed by Yamamoto to become the new CC. Especially since she's one of the few to have been him since what seem like the beginning.

I think whoever translated this chapter for Mangastream took a bit too many liberties when it came to translations. It was still 10 times better than Mangapanda, but I really doubt "pimp slapped" was the correct term to use.

I can't be the only one who thought Shunsui's words were essentially a mirroring of what Yamma would have said, thus Shunsui showing that he is now finally serious and is going to be responsible and take the reins of Soul Society as he was originally trained to do. The shocked faces on the other captains seems to imply this was the result. Originally Posted by Uzor
