I see it more a them figuring themselves out than trying to determine who's in control. At the very least, one should argue his inner world is in turmoil with the sword broken.

I got tired of the Zangetsu thing when they changed his look for Ichigo's bankai and did the whole subjugation thing. It was just stupid.

Exactly, Zaraki is the only person in the show besides Shirosaki and Praying Mantis Espada who just loved to fight. It is the direct opposite on Ichigo's normal self. If they get rid of Shirosaki I am going to be pissed because if there is a Qichigo he is going to be a fucking fairy.

I legitimately thought some random person took Bleach anime clips and put them to some movie announcer and random sound clips from movies. I couldn't even tell it was supposed to be serious. I thought the scenes I didn't recognize were from filler arcs that happened after I stopped watching Bleach and I've never seen any of the Bleach dub so I didn't know those were their actual English voices.
