I'm getting that beast swords filler arc vibe with these recent developments. Didn't Kubo help with the sword spirit designs for the captains in that arc?

I think for the longer arcs, Kubo had his hand in them somehow. For the moment, I'm hoping we get a better explanation of how the sword spirits seem to adjust to whomever they get paired with.

Well, basically the filler arcs were ideas that Kubo had that were scrapped due to time constraints and he gave his blessing to the anime team to use them. The Bount Arc I think was the only completely original anime arc.

Golden Week is at the end of April/beginning of May. This is just the New Year holiday.
