I don't really want to see this Unohana fighting. I want to see Unohana fighting enemies. Once again, Kubo going for the misinterpretation of what his fans were asking for.

I am excited for this arc still.

Err, that wasn't really my point. I don't care about her being super strong or the last Yachiru or anything of that sort. I don't like how they've turned her from a sensible, smart, strong Captain into basically a closet whore.

Seriously, there were some obvious sexual overtones in this chapter not to mention they've managed to change her from a caring superior officer into a bloodthirsty maniac all for the sake of having her fight.

There is a totally different route they could have taken with this to make her a respectable character instead of making her a Zaraki clone. They could have kept her strength, title, and everything else, and simply just had her be a very good swordsman.

As it stands, it's pretty obvious she's going to die.

I would like to believe she wont be a copy of Zaraki completely. I would like to hope she has some kind of actual fighting skill outside of just being stupid strong. I pray she at least shows her bankai if not vs Zaraki then vs the bad guys.
I don't wanna see this new version gone so soon. I've always loved the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde stereotypes. Being 2 different people in one body each having its necessary part as a whole being/character. The idea of who you want to be vs what you are can be fleshed out deeper if kubo wants to.

I think this had more to do with the panda translation. I don't see it in the stream version.

What I got too. Also, sometimes the best way to fight a monster is to put them against another monster. This is why for example Byakuya would've lost horribly to Ichigo if Ichigo didn't fight off his Hollow form. Also when Byakuya just pretty much said fuck honor when he fought Tsukishima (I think it was him anyway, don't have time to check). I"m not gonna speculate on whether she'll actually die or not but who's to say what her true personality was like when when it's been hinted several times that she had a dark past that she was obviously trying to put behind her.

However, I guess you're arguing that the way they went about the personality change was shitty and I suppose I can agree with that. They could've drew it out a little more (although everyone would probably complain but it'd make for a better overall story.)

The whole "Shinigami or Zanpakatou, which is one top?" thing reminds me of the speech Shirosaki had with Ichigo about the horse and the king.

Also I'm confused. . was the person Zaraki beat to become captain Unohana, or someone else? Or, had they met even before he came to Seireitei?

as far as i'm aware they met a long time before the scene with his Vice Captain which is why he named her after Unohana they both survived the battle which is something Kenpachi's aren't allowed to do (leave someone alive) Ken beat Kenpachi Kiganjō



we've always known she was strong but we didn't know why til now, she never "flipped" to Zaraki mode she was always Insane, she was never let out to any of the fights til it was over, most likely due to her destroying everything

She does have fighting style. The chapter mentions she was one of the first original 13 Shinigamis (and they were all criminals), out of which she was the strongest one. She named herself Yaruichi (sp?) because she was the only person to have mastered every sword style and flow in existence, and she supposedly "invented the art of killing".

Based on that alone I'd say she does have a fighting style more than just being strong. And, like I said months ago, she probably became a healer to counter all of the killing she's done in the past, and probably despise her sword which is why she has her vice captain carry it.

They were talking about their scars throbbing. It's not any sexual thing lol. It's cause they are in each other's presence and are about to fight.

Also that page with her face is one of the most awesome panels of the entire manga.

I thought that was the scar he got from ichigo, but thats on his chest? so my bad totally went over my head. Was focused on how fucking mean she looked.
