I think the Shunsui/Uchitake fight was left out mostly because it turned out to be irrelevant to the outcome of the arc. It's true that Kubo doesn't seem to like to draw fights that aren't 1 on 1 (Yoruichi and Urahara taking turns with Ulq/Yammi, Vizards taking turns with Ichihollow, Espada staying in their rooms instead of ambushing the good guys all at once, etc.), but that probably makes for more enjoyable fights anyway. If nothing stupid happens, like Urahara blowing the roof off La Noches with a spirit-disintegrating-ray, they'll probably just pair off for 1 on 1 fights. That being said, he might just pull exactly that kind of cop-out.

The panel with the remaining captains standing together looks sweet.

It does look cool, but they should have left Lolshiro Hitsuckaya at home. Seriously, the guy couldn't even beat Luppi with his strongest attack, so why did they bring him? So he can hold the coats while the other captains do the real fighting? Psh.

Luppi was #6. The only one to beat an Espada higher than #6 was Kenpachi (after like 10 chapters). Besides, Hitsugaya did technically "beat" Luppi, it just didn't kill him. Also, Ichigo couldn't finish off a #6 even after a long fight.

Plus Hitsugaya is like the most popular character in Japan or something, so of course he'll be whored out.

Getting oneshotted while unreleased and not expecting it isn't really the same as a fight. Besides, the defensive mechanics in Bleach have always been screwy (Kenpachi stabbing right through Ichigo's sword when he "softens up", Ulquiorra impaling Ichigo's sternum after his own green cero gets deflected, lolYammy losing an arm in his first appearance but barely getting dented by Urahara next time). It seems like pretty much anything can be survived with enough willpower. Or we could just say "plot shield" and be done with it.

So anyone else think they'll just use Inoue to reject the closing of the Garganta's? Probably time it just so they can make the save right when all the captains in town look like they're going to lose...

Maybe the captains will get assistance from Ichigo's father, Urahara, Yoruichi, and the vizards. I doubt Aizen knows about ichigo's father and the vizards. Although Vizards probably wouldn't help shinigami.

That's all this badass mothafucka needs for the trash he's going to have to be fighting. Seriously look at the lineup, those captains are all trash. The only two good ones are the one who was sick(lol he's sick won't be fighting well) and the flower robe one. The Old guy is obviously good too. So that's 3 people who won't be taken out within the first few chapters. If anyone else besides those 3 lasts more than 3 chapters then something is wrong.. besides 3v3 looks much more fun.

Also, what did Aizen do with Orihime? I thought he was going to use her to speed up the awakening of that orb thing, and that she wanted to erase it from existence. It seems all she was for was bait to lure Ichigo and crew to HM. Just seems a little wierd that everyone was waiting for the showdown to happen in winter, and now it seems it got pushed up. Maybe I missed something, I dunno. Still, nice to see some actual plot advancement for a change.

Keep in mind that "anyone else" includes Urahara, Yoruichi, Isshin, and Ryuken Ishida. It's probably a safe bet that Urahara and Yoruichi are at or above the level of Ukitake and Kyoraku. Isshin is a mystery, but Ishida is probably equal to or stronger than the scrub captains like Hitsugaya, Komamura, Ichimaru, and Tousen.

On a non-manga topic: I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict a fight between that last Bount and Yammy or some other equally useless Arrancar in the anime version.

Orihime's use was only to lure everybody to HM. He did that so they would be trapped there and he could buttrape Ktown
