That's Kubo-level explaining there.

lol she can insta gib then insta heal Kenpachi countless times over and over again but she couldn't heal Byakuya, Renji, or Rukia? she was ordered to stay inside her barracks while thousands of people died without lifting a finger. She can turn people to skeletons then back over and over again but hotsprings are OP? This is Bleach. The most logical thing this arc has been why Unohana had that ridiculous hairstyle- to cover up a stupid wound and the ensuing can of worms.
well, if she released her bankai, the enemy could steal it. melt everyone and then heal all their dead people. so, I would ask her to stay in her barracks too lol of course, I would've asked some shitty shinigami to get their swords stolen all at the same time. bust out unohana, have her melt the enemy and the arc would be done in 3 chapters. But I suppose that wouldn't be interesting.
Well she seems to come unhinged pretty fast when she's fighting, Yamamoto probably didn't want to deal with another kenpachi going batshit during battles. Putting genie back in the fucking bottle was probably a headache he didn't want.
Edit: Now that I reread the chapters she seems to have more control over her "KILL EVERYTHANG NAO" mode, but that's the best explanation I can think of as for why she's sidelined up until now.
I've been getting the impression more recently that she was ordered not to fight in case the "old" Unohana resurfaced and ended up rampaging. In my mind it gives some sense at least to her and Zaraki's opening exchange about both being criminals.
The chapter ain't the only thing that confused you, in fact... I'd be willing to bet that a lot of things do.
Also, just read it myself and all I can say is that this whole exercise may not have been worth it unless Ken is a whole hell of a lot stronger than her now (which he may very well be)
Would laugh if Kubo trolls the shit out of us and after Quincy dude is dead and maybe Soul King, Zaraki is the end game boss.
I bet he'll pull an Itachi, and we find out that Aizen is actually the good guy...
No doubt in my mind that Aizen is good. Or rather, he is against the evil soul king. That line where he was asking how urahaha could follow that beast or w/e it was, pretty much convinced me.
It does leave food for thought. Bleach does have SOME decent foreshadowing.
YES HE FUCKING DID. GAME OVER MOTHERFUCKERS
Are you ready to wait a year until we find out what it is?!![]()
I bet it'll be a healing shikai/bankai so that he can heal his opponent to keep on fighting longer <.< and then he'll resurrect Unohana.
Suddenly I don't give two shits about what happens to ichigo.
incoming "WHY AM I A QUINCY"
The upside to ichigo finding his "roots" might mean his dad finally spilling the beans about everything. Though that still means shit compared to zaraki right now.
the way i understood it, the title of kenpachi gains the zanpaktou?
