All this has been explained already lol.

Looking back at the Fullbring arc...
Looks like a god damn Quincy Cross or am I being Kubo'd?

I'd wager like father, like son, etc
Nope. This was stated quite early actually.
No, Souj is correct. It has never been actually stated. It's only been implied.
Could see Yugl's reference going either way. I kinda figured the moment we saw the tattered white cloak tied to him, though.
I know we saw his white cloak so it made it pretty easy to assume Isshin was a captain, but I know we were debating if he was a captain or Zero Squad.
If you meant to ask whether this was confirmation that he was onry captain, that's still unknown.
Well, we just got confirmation he was a captain. I doubt he was 0 squad.
But it sounds like everyone knows the Zero Squad except Ichigo -- at the very least the high ranking captains.
Even if he knows about them, there's no reason he should know Ichigo didn't complete the task, why he didn't complete the task, or even that there was a task. Not to mention, he was able to pick out the gender of the one that sent Ichigo back. None of this would make sense simply knowing them to the degree other captains do.
Yet he still apparently got punked by a Hollow a Quincy defeated. So, either he's not Zero Squad, or Ichigo's mom is a badass that then lost to lolGrandFisher.
1. The unit is about contribution; otherwise, the title of "Kenpachi" would be synonymous with membership within that unit
2. You can apply this dilemma using captain status as well
3. There's no reason to expect she retained Quincy abilities; interestingly, he could create a parallel between removing the Sanrei gloves and FGT training
Edit: He may have learned the FGT training via Quincy's Sanrei lol.
Or she was a bad-ass Quincy that a) lost her powers via a Sanrei glove or some other method or b) wasn't killed by Grand Fisher in a lolAizen moment.
Don't forget. The shinigami stood by and let Souken die instead of helping. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they did the same to Masaki and that is why Isshin/Urahara and Ryuuken all operate outside of SS' jurisdiction.
Well, at the time, Grand Fisher was super elusive and had avoided Soul Society for a long time -- admittedly his power levels don't really match up, but let's ignore that point. I imagine they didn't stand by and watch Masaki die, but didn't know it was occurring. I'm guessing she realized it was Fisher as Ichigo was running towards the lure and threw herself in harms way to protect Ichigo. Were it an even fight, I bet Masaki was really strong and could have taken him no problem.
Or Kubo makes shit up as he goes. CMON, SWORDS ARENT EVEN SWORDS ANYMORE?! They're hot chicks, eye mouth things and apparently anything! You can manifest them from being stabbed in the heart, take them from dead friends or even break and reforge them as you please. All Zanpakutous are Hogyokus. Kubo explains that people are given Asauchis but where's Kens? Ichigos? SERIOUSLY, shit don't make sense and more you try to make sense of it the stupider you look in a later chapter when Kubo retcons the entire thing.
