I think the way it's explained in shonens is that typically pure-breed [insert race here] have a limited potential but can reach it faster whereas half-breeds do not have the constraints of potential but take much longer to realize it.

Vegeta trained all his life, every damn day nearly. Gohan was a pacifist that studied more then trained. And yet he passed Vegeta near age 12.

Saiyan's ability to increase their power level increases proportionally to their hair, or more specifically how long it has grown. Goku and Vegeta, being pureblood saiyans, are unable to continuously grow their hair and weren't able to increase their potential at a high rate until their hair reached maximum potential (adulthood). Meanwhile Gohan, Goten, and Trunks had hair that grew continuously and therefore their ability to increase their power levels increased faster.

Goten and Trunks increased their power levels faster than Gohan precisely because Gohan didn't start training until later. Also, yellow hair means even faster power level increases.

Dragonball Z is different, though, in that they're not really inbreeding. That's an entire planetary race to mesh with: Sayians aren't a freaking clan. They're a race. Idk, I probably don't read enough manga lol, but most of the ones I see come down to the strongest being the one that works the hardest. Thats the only reason Goku is stronger than goten or gohan lol.

Do they call you null because that's the value returns when someone queries $brainpower or are you just in total denial? You keep saying EXPLAINGOHAN and you've been given at least 2-3 different explanations and your only response is EXPLAINGOHAN. It's been explained. His potential isn't limited by his bloodline (Saiyan) because he is a human and humans have high potential.

Gohan's potential is high and as such there are bursts of power that he gets that bring him to a high level on par with his opponents. Vegeta and Goku are already there with training and as such can sustain these levels over a longer period of time. Gohan, on the other hand, is almost always tired out because he tapped into his potential but could not withstand the immense power that came with it (his body wasn't ready).

It's like two runners - one runs marathons and one runs 100m sprints. They race for 1km and the marathon runner wins because the sprinter can only hold his top speed for 100-200m at a time and meanwhile the marathon runner has the endurance necessary to finish the race. In this instance, say Gohan was the sprinter and Goku was the marathoner and suddenly someone unlocked Gohan's ability to sprint for 500m instead. Obviously he will look faster, run faster, and be faster. Goku still has the endurance to finish the race.

In terms of this analogy, picture that Ultimate Gohan was basically given the ability to both sprint at high speed and run marathons. That is the difference between Gohan and Goku.
