Yeah. I'm thinking Kensei was the Squad 9 captain as Tousen was most likely not there. With Urahara as the Captain of Squad 12, possibly Yoruichi was the Captain of Squad 2 as I believe she left SS around one hundred years ago.

As far as the Kenpachi thing, I'm not sure if it was the Kenpachi we know, or another Kenpachi before him that our Kenpachi ended up beating. The Squad 11 leader seems to always hold the title "Kenpachi" either way. Not sure where Isshin will fit in. I could see Squad 10 being a possibility, because a relative to Byakuya was possibly a Squad 6 leader. That's just me guessing of course.

I didn't mean I thought she was a Captain way back when, but now during this little Past-Arc. I figured since Squad 2's Captain was left open last week that it would be Yoruichi, and we'd see her soon. Turns out I was right =P That's all I meant. Either way, I wasn't sure she was a captain back when her and Soi Fon went over their history in the episode before Ban-Kai Ichigo. Now I can be sure. Woot. She's hot. D: She also looks angry. Sort of like "Fuck. Why am I up so early?"

I'm going to go way out on a limb and say the 11th captain is Isshin.
It would explain why Kubo didnt show current Zaraki Kenpachi in the flashback and why noone would recognize (Ichigo)Kurosaki's name. I'm assuming of course that when current Kenpachi and Isshin fought for the captain spot, Isshin faked his death so he could live in the real world uninterrupted by soul society.

I'm not sure I follow your logic here as to why nobody would recognize the name "Kurosaki". If he was the 11th captain at this point, why would the 4 current captains have forgotten? Of course, that's a plot hole that has existed ever since he was introduced as a Shinigami, but I don't see how it would be a reason for him to be #11 in particular, as opposed to 6 or 10.

I would really hate this, but I could really see this happening. Basically because a) it makes Kenpachi look "nicer" which they've done for most captains, b) NOBODY DIES IN BLEACH.

The first movie came out in December the previous year and we didn't see the DVD/DVD-rip until the following summer. Don't get your hopes up.

The one thing that has always bothered me about Isshin is the shoulderplate with the Captain's cloak. It's obvious that at least he was a Captain, but it might also denote that he was a part of the Royal Guard (which would make sense why they are introducing Squad 0 now).

Also, Kurosaki might be just a pseudonym that he assumed upon leaving Soul Society (which could be the reason why they're dropping the name of the former Division 12 Captain so soon, as though we should be familiar with him even though we're all going "Who the fuck is that?"). Him being Captain of 11th Division wouldn't make sense because he would be dead.

Could be, but it looks like a full length sword (a foot or so of it is obscured by Ichigo and the bed in the foreground), which is longer than what she had in the flashback of her and Urahara.

also, captain of squad 12, Hikifune, is a female. so unless Isshin also had a sex change, I doubt it.

Not only did he know Komamura basically when they joined the Squad, but Shunsui has stated that he, Ukitake, Yama-ji, and Unohana were the only original, remaining Captains. I was just thinking about it. Anyway, new spoiler pic looks awesome.

As far as Squad 6, I think my theory about a Kuchiki holding the previous title is true. Remember the old guy that Byakuya was with when he took Rukia into the family? It resembles him a lot.

Or that he's a member of the Special Guard as well with Hikifune. I feel Hikifune will have more to do with the story than not, or else she wouldn't have been mentioned so clearly. 10th Squad Captain is possible though, I suppose.
