Only good I could potentially see of it is it translates to Ichigo being able to take the power of the other quincies instead. Otherwise, it'll probably be used as some ploy for the new baddie to weaken him during their eventual fight.

You may have possibly been the first to point out that resemblance here but...

A quincy uses the reishi in the atmosphere and combines it with their spirit power to materialize spirit weapons. A shinigami channels their spirit power into/with a zanpakuto or into pure kidou attacks. Since Ichigo is both quincy and shinigami he is able to channel is own spirit power to manifest/materialize his spirit weapon on his own. I think getsuga is simply an imitation of a quincy attack. Instead of gathering outside energy into the shape of an arrow and firing it he gathers energy from inside himself into his "bow" (zangetsu) and fires it. As Isshin spent so long with Masaki he learned how to perform the same type of imitation.

The final getsuga tenshou is exactly the same as Letzt Stil. He lost all his spirit powers by activating and using it the same way Uryuu Ishida did. When Ichigo was stabbed with a sword full of energy to get his spirit powers back he was stabbed in the same exact spot that Ryuuken Ishida shot Uryuu with an arrow to get him his spirit powers back. (19mm to the right of the heart.)

Shikai: Really not much different than throwing Reishi
Bankai: Reishi and Hirenkyaku (Technically, could be Shunpo still since Shunpo is Reishi based)
FGT: Even more Reishi and similar to Uryuu's method

Oh yes, it makes perfect sense in context of this arc... Just not this overall story.

But I did that all by only looking at the first 200 or so chapters, and the chapters that had titles with "white", "black", or "rain". And a couple other chapters too I guess. Don't forget that Inner Hollow Ichigo was always shown to be the same 'being' as zangetsu: two sides of the same coin. Also Getsuga Tenshou was supposed to be a technique that Inner Hollow Ichigo 'taught' him right?

I guess the gaping problem would be why were his quincy powers exactly like shinigami powers. But the quincy that invaded had their own swords too right? There's probably a good explanation for this if we dig deep enough.

Not necessarily -- it's still a part of him, so does it matter what form it takes? It's still a part of Ichigo, so it should want to protect and help him. I'm going to keep hoping (till like next week when I'm inevitably proved wrong..) that it's just that the manifestation of his Quincy powers takes the form of Juha Bach and not that Bach has been influencing Ichigo all this time or w/e..
