I dunno.. I think once the fighting starts, it's gonna be incredibly drawn out, so why not get to that sooner. Cut a month off the whole process. We've got 26 Quincy who have to have their own fights (minus the 3 Kenpachi took out and the 1? that Yamamoto killed). And during those fights, you know we're going to get a bunch of flashbacks to all the training that occurred -- Hitsuguya learning to fight, Hisagi's training his Bankai, whatever Mayuri has been doing, Komamura's power up, etc. It's gonna be drawn out plenty..

Ichigo: 2 + boss
Captains and lieutenants: tag teams
Kenpachi: rest in a single chapter

Cool, we get this arc stretched out another hundred chapters as we have mediocre fights amongst all the different Quincy letters/rankings before finally facing Bach-shida.

It's odd Bach would call Ishida the last living Quincy, since he's not a "pure blood." If he considers Ishida a real quincy, then Ichigo and Ishida are the "last living Quincies." Though I guess you could just make the distinction of a Quincy who had "2 quincy parents," even if one of them wasn't a pure blood. It's not like Bach is unaware of Ichigo's quincy blood.

Still infinitely better in the grand scheme of things when you reread it completely, not impatiently waiting each week for the next update. The pacing of the FKT arc was fucking atrocious having to wait each week for barely any progress, but now it reads pretty bad ass as a whole when you go back to it.

For example, Gantz just ended it's entire manga in like 4 panels lol. It's always going to have a shitty ending.

On a more serious and completely speculative note.. Having thought about it a bit, Bach has an army of (presumably) dead Quincies. The only characters who have had notable interactions with Quincies to this point in the story are Ichigo and Ishin (Masaki), Ishida, and Mayuri. I can't see Mayuri being all that broken up by seeing one of his former test subjects back from the dead, and Ishida is part of Bach's army. The more I think about it, the more I think the masked Quincy is going to be Masaki.. But then again, there's Bach's whole thing about pure blood Quincies, so maybe it'll just be Ishida's grandfather rebuilt as a robot with freeway on ramps for arms and a heart as black as coal..

I agree. Bringing Masaki back for a cheap emotional element to a fight with Ichigo or Isshin would be incredibly weak, but is there any other character who you can think of that justifies a mask?

I can imagine the mask being there just for style.

Well, let's see. His name is BG9, the 11th Sternritter. He could very well be a hollow but if you look at the neck it's elongated (and the costume looks familiar). For all we know it could be Szayel.

By the way, Cang looks a lot like Ichinose from the Bount Arc. Kubo really likes re-using some of these themes:

His face wasn't really Kaien's though. He used that as an illusion to trick Rukia and get her to drop her guard. When the sunlight hit his face Aaroniero's true face was exposed.

Yeah, the BG9 guy's mask just seems for style then anything else. Unless the dude appears next chapter with a sharingan, he seems pretty insignificant to be "hiding" his identity.
