Considering Hitsu had refurbished Hollow parts over his eye during his Bankai, I'm surprised people are so anti-hollow on Soifon in that panel.

Yeah, Soi Fon's bankai looks identical (at least the little bit we've seen). Maybe Soi Fon's missile had a mask on it, but now we'll never get to see it~

In any case, this should settle the "hollow mask" matter--it's not a bloody mask, it's a rampart connected to her bankai.

I think that was always obvious, I figured they mistook the makeup around her eye for a hollowfication. Which is not the case either anyway.

If Kubo was going to go to the trouble to make Hitsuguya's Bankai gain an obvious hollow element, he isn't going to do something as unnoticeable as eye liner on Soi Fon.

Hey don't take it on me, I wasn't the one advocating it lol! At first I didn't even notice Hitsu's mask cause I just stared at the dragon.

To be fair, I wasn't talking about her missile's face shield. I was talking about what appeared to be a partial mask formed on her face around her right eye.

Looking at it closer it could just be her hair and face messed up from getting the shit kicked out of her, but who knows:

I'll just be brief. What you're highlighting is an artistic technique called cross-hatching. It is utilized to create depth. More specific to this case, the illusion of blood/dirt/shadow on her face within an otherwise 2D plane. Notice it is also present on other portions of her skin. And while there is a more prominent line to the left of her mouth, I'm more inclined to believe it a representation of her cheek dimpling in tandem with the smirk she's giving. If you were to continue that line, it would general match up with the skeletal/muscular structure of a face, too. Or at least as well as an anime face would allow.

I also blame the scanlation/cleaning process diluting potential details and creating potential discrepancies like this.

Quoted for emphasis. The bruising/scorching/dirt on her face is not a sign of Hollow characteristics.

Sorry, wasn't directed at you, more of a general point. That said, I stand by it -- If Kubo was going to give Soi Fon pieces or aspects of a hollow mask it'd be obvious. We wouldn't have to grasp at straws and try to interpret some stray lines as pieces of a mask.

Not sure why you seem to think he has a Hollow mask on him though. It resembles his Bankai's face, so it could also be an ice mask.

I mean, look at him. He gets wings and ears like a dragon, his dragon is made out of ice. I'd say it's fairly obvious they're made out of ice, not hollow-mask. Just look at this picture for example:

His previous Bankai encased him in ice, after all, it just didn't cover his face before.
