They schedule maintenances for the times that will affect the statistically fewest people. I'm not really sure why these time choices continue to surprise people.

I don't think people are really surprised by the the time, just the frequency of these maintenances. Since the Dec update there have been a lot of these.

I would bet my right (or left) testicle that if every maintenace was in PST (or w/e non-EU time ;p), it would be the EU players saying "I'm tired of PST players complaining about maintanence".

The sad thing is you only make a total profit of 38k for all the tablets, and yet RMT are able to exploit the game so effectively (6 toons x 1 hour to do all of them with POS = 230k+ an hour) that it's a problem for SE.

I hope SE tracks where some of that gil goes and breaks out the ban hammer. Hit some banks and maybe even the networks of fishbotters.

The bottom line will be that sushi will triple in price (again), and everyone's exp will go back down to pre-december 2004 levels because 80% of player-base won't be able to afford decent exp food.

The gil farmers will just warp hack to Selbina, do the sheep quest to get quick fame, POS hack to get the Batallia Downs monument, wait until JP midnight, POS hack to get the one in Sauromugue Champaign, delete the character and start over.

All square did was increase the number of content IDs active at any given point in the day needed to make this profitable. Legitimate players, of course, are going to be the ones hurt by this.
