As Elcura said there's no need to grind in ff12 if you're going for the main storyline. But if you're going for those hunts and such, you'll need to grind.

To clarify, I have nothing against sidequest grinding. I find main quest grinding complete BS and lazy design though.
then why the gripe against FFXII?Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
i would understand if it was VP2 since other ppl have stated it, but i haven't played that myself (yet, damn torrents gave me .00-type files which i can't use)
i'll still play VP2 though
double click the first file normally started with 00 or 01. Then you can see the iso file. Or you can just right click and choose extract here option to get the iso file out. Those .00- type files are just many parts of one main .rar file. I'll recommend winrar to do thisOriginally Posted by Helpoemer
you see...that's what i did at first, but it's not like the usual ones that are rar filesOriginally Posted by Miltani
when i did the double click it asked me to search for a compatible program using the internet blah stuff
so i got this program that's supposed to bring them altogether (which i did) but it just gave me this 3.6GB single file but that's also one of the files i couldn't use with winrar or anything
It wasnt a gripe against FFXII. I even clarified saying FFXII didn't fall victim to that. Other past FFs have though.Originally Posted by Helpoemer

I had to stop numerous times and grind to be able to beat some of the 'bosses'. The first time I had to was the battle with all the mandoragas, I would die in under a minute. Went out and leveled for 2 or so hours (3 or 4 lvls), and barely killed them. Had to do this a lot through the game.
colts vs pats

I don't know maybe it's the difference in strag we all use in going into battle. I always just go with the story progression and head to fight the bosses and barely making it out alive though. I know i did not grind at all cause i was rushing to complete ff12 in a week to get ready for vp2Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
Maybe they buffed up the difficulty of the main story for the na version? which i highly doubt it
No, graphics are prolly the last of my concernsOriginally Posted by Mysterio
But VP2 came out before FF12...Originally Posted by Miltani
And i've had a lot of trouble in FF12 with storyline bosses... I almost always had to level up 2-3 levels on each of my chars to get past it. (maybe it's because I was obsessed with keeping all 6 at the same level, but I can't help it because it's how i've always played RPGs...)
Sorry I'm playing the jp version ff12 (march) came out before vp2 (june). Forgot to mention i got ff12 about 1 week before vp2 was about to released in case someone says there's 3 months in between the two release.Originally Posted by Exoduso

Zelda TP was too easy for the most part, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it more than any other game this year.By your own definition Zelda is both game of the year and not a well made game. This is what makes you a fanboy max.In a well made, well balanced game you shouldnt have to do this, the game should be doable but hard.
Have you ever played ES:Oblivion? So far every good point you've said about Z:TP goes for that game too, but its much bigger and draws the player in more than Zelda. It is also at least challenging for the most part as its possible to die. I'd like to see how you explain this.
I did story only things, never vered off the main path, and fought every necessary enemy in my way.Originally Posted by Miltani

Are you high? There is no leveling system or grinding of any kind in zelda. The closest thing is exploring the world which you can't really call a grind. You can plow through the game pure story mode if you want. Hell, you can skip hearts if you want to make it tougher. Furthermore, Zelda games do challenge me unlike any other game. Instead of being afraid of dying all the time I instead focus on puzzles which I <3. Also I judge GOTY based on fun. Guess what game I had the most fun in?
Ok you have to be high. Oblivion is a totally different type of game. Oblivion = sandbox RPG. Zelda = Adventure game. Have you seriously ever played a zelda game? You are really making weird comparisons.Have you ever played ES:Oblivion? Uh, did you not use mid-battle character swaps and quickenings? For the mandies I just kited them around until they gathered together and nailed a nice quickening chain. There was no battle I needed grind for (well I thought I did for judge Ghis but that was just me not strategizing right.) I beat the game at around level 42.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
