We killed it at 3 AM over a year and a half ago, with 0 competition and a group of 9-12 people. The only other person there that could even equip Ridill was still new, and hey guess what!? Esodragon, I never got along with blackice, might go as far as saying i hate the kid.. but for some cowardly little cunt like yourself to come out here and try to bash him, even I'll defend my enemies. Blackice is a great pld, and he made the correct financial choice. And him getting ridill.. He wasn't there that day.. ok, how about EVERY SINGLE DAY for 6months prior to that? When he would ruge everyone in BtL and BtL's jp counterpart to move into aery at all hours of the day/night. That kind of dedication deserves reward and so he got it.

If you have a good friend that decides to quit, but wants to give their account to the linkshell for all they did for that player (aka the player has a lot of good stuff from the LS, often including a ridill!)... Why wouldn't you if paying for it isn't an issue?

They had neon orange Macuahuitls as ice saws. Only pic I could find, and I had to jack it from an ebay listing.

On-topic: If the LS uses primarily PLD/NIN and the currency fund was mobile, it could be diverted to a Gjallahorn. That might say benefit the LS more so overall than if one PLD fielded an Aegis. Situational, like everything else in this game. Hauteclaire + Aegis would be lovely for face tanking things in Dynamis

So umm, if you can get a 65% block rate on all shield types, why use a level 3 shield (isn't that what koenig is) over a level 4 tower shield? Aegis damage reduction is quite significant over koenig.

There aren't any really "good" level 4 shields for PLD, unless you're a Tatami lover. Too my knowledge none of them offer any Enmity+

It would also take alot more shield skill to push the block rate high, whereas something like Koenig Shield takes around the 300 range. I doubt most PLDs with a brain these days (I know I know, PLD with a brain is an oxymoron) are picking up a Knight Earring anymore so yeah.
