Wow, gilsellers still can't touch Tiamat on our server, and glad they can't too.

Overall, the competition on our server is pretty bad at times, although not sure how it would compare to other servers. All the major HNMs have mules or linkshell members placed there whenever the window is going, and typically anything that pops during NA time is just a huge bum rush for whoever can claim it first. Otherwise if something pops in the middle of the day it's more of a slow progression to see who has members first, in which case we end up getting most of our Tiamat kills with the really low numbers.

And, on the topic of the OP... I found out some handy information!

esodragons.com/heliopolis is the original website of a linkshell, named Heliopolis, on my server. For some reason quite a few members from that LS just flat out hate BtL and I guess everyone in BtL for whatever reasons. So yeah..

EDIT: I agree Rent, and it's always the same people doing this. Only yesterday another attempt to bash BtL was made with Artus posting a linkshell matter on Alla for no reason other than to create drama... But yeah, thanks for your words.

EDIT2: I originally stated a person that seemed to be responsible, although I later found it that was most likely incorrect.. I have a good idea of who it is but I'll just not post it on public, in hope this can just all end once and for all.

What is there to touch on <_<

Alot of the ways in which I typically gear myself is to "compensate" for the fact that we typically have one BRD, + my natural MP deficiency as a Galka, so things like Loq. Earring > Hades+1 for me fulltime (even /WAR too actually... when I got Loq I sold my Hades+1 cause it was really solid gil at the time)

Reading your gear makes me want to get off my ass and grab a +1 Kaman though. It almost never goes on the AH so I might knuckle down and do some farming for the -1s

Yeah, I'm glad where this thread finally went. I hope it can keep it up and not fall back into the drama bash fest that it started as.

Edit: About Kaman+1, I was lucky enough to get mine from a linkshell member who has Bone100 on a mule and I bought it for 1m. I find my Rosenbogen+1 being used less and less.

    Ice change your damn sig.

    Or else.

But yeah, we're not the only server with mules/linkshell members at Cerb/Tiamat all times of the day during their windows right? I know my friend's server just has it sit up for hours at a time most days...

Isn't the cardinal rule of upgrading a relic only to upgrade if you can afford it? I would think, if a person has to sell all their other gear to purchase currency, they wouldn't be a prime candidate for such an item.
Well there are two different ways to go about upgrading a relic, and different LS' take different approaches. A lot of LS will use sponsorship and the responsibility is on the upgrader to continue to generate cash to fund runs when he is given the opportunity as well as buy currency when he can afford off bazaars. Other linkshells will run Dynamis and assume all costs associated it with and use the currency to fund individual members as rewards for their effort or to strengthen the linkshell.

BtL has mainly two dynamis LS (we have a third that runs once per week during JP time as well), an NA one that I run and a JP one run by a senior JP in our linkshell. Each linkshell pools its currency to upgrade 1 relic at a time, and each linkshell created slightly different rules to determine who was upgraded next. My linkshell only required people to complete the first 2 upgrades, just 2K currency, themselves to get in line for an upgrade, and we would choose from those people ready, who was most deserving of upgrade. The JP side required 5K currency from its members, who also were far richer than the NA counterparts.

While 2K currency doesn't seem like much, most members in BtL are not particularly wealthy, unless they were crafters since we never really camped many of the cash NMs or farm sky more than we needed to, so before deflation asking for a 50-60 million down payment was a very difficult task for a lot of members, hence why Ice was forced to make his decision to not attempt Aegis.

I think the direct quote from the Aegis CS is the perfect touch to whats going on in the image, "I've been lied to! ..." kind of thing.

We have mules for Tiamat / Cerb, etc on our server too.

The Kaman just benefits you even more then since it comes w/ +mp as well.

Just remember AF2 is free so anything over 1 gil is expensive and you'll never have to worry about that.

I may be hitting this up a bit late... but here goes!

    1. The Aegis is indeed better than Koenig Shield. Even with maximum shield skill Koenig procs less and blocks less damage. Pld/Nin is situational in itself. You won't always sub Ninja as a paladin, and not having to wear shield gear will allow you to cake on either the emnity or the vitality.
    2. Hauteclaire is situationally good. Paladins should probably have alot of gear. God created macros, use them. Divine skill allows flash to land and stick longer to HNMS. If you're getting the beat down of your life, you'll be pleased with the damage reduction. And merry christ if you manage to ever get 300 percent TP, you'll be happy to SW the mob, and the residual hate will be ever so lovely.

Now folks lets not get pissy over something silly, espeacially virtual data on some server on the west coast. Lets piss and moan about things that are more relevant.

But on a side note. /Nin for pld isn't used ALL the merry time. Menopausal elitists that would like to argue one set of gear is better than the other need to realize that it's a versatile game with many solutions to our myriad problems. Yes I hate you all. And whoever said Blackice was the best PLD on the server was really smoking alot of meth.

No outside of a D ring Xavier's setup is pretty close to ideal for PLD/NIN imo, menopausal elitist notwithstanding.

And I don't see what having Hauteclaire equipped matters for using Spirits Within on a mob, I don't even engage most mobs because they don't need extra TP

IMO, SE is desperately trying to bring a PLD's Damage mitigation up to par with a NIN while not having to rely on Utsusemi. They aren't quite there yet, but they aren't very far from it either.

I think that when that day comes, the Hauteclaire will be a necessary piece. Defending Ring + Jelly Ring + Hauteclaire alone is -22% physical. On top of that, throw in a 50-60% Shield proc rate (~320 skill) in which each block is another 50-65% (I've heard a lot of debate on which it actually is for Size3). RDM with full PhalanxII (Fixed 21 damage mitigation assuming at least base Enhancing Gear), then merited Sentinel at 4:10. I could see someone surviving a good long time against anything that doesn't one-shot you.

    (I love this smiley)

@Sylvr, while I agree partially I don't think SE will take it much farther than it is now. If an average PLD/WAR could be anywhere close to on par with the damage mitigation of a NIN blink tanking to avoid damage, then that would practically make a PLD/NIN invincible. Which, would most likely be used anyway even if /WAR was made more viable than it could be now.
