I don't personally find Chivalry that useful in most endgame situations.

Between Auto Refresh, Refresh, Ethereal Earring, Ballad, Parade Gorget I usually have more MP than I know what to do with. I usually forget I even have it at all.

Even so I don't think Fealty is that decent either, but I think it might be worth 1 merit level.

Here's a question on Fealty, is Charm an enfeeble?

If you are on Bahamut 2 for instance, if you have Fealty up can you resist Vrtra's charm effect?

I have a similar question to Garrets. Is terror an enfeeble? If so, I think Fealty unlocked is worth it.

All you need to know is that Sleep and Bind are enfeebles, and should be reason enough for a point in Fealty. I'm sure you've all been in situations where you just can't fuck up, and the off chance of being slept or bound while trying to do something critical would fail the mission.

I already think it is worth unlocking it but I'm really curious if it works in those situations as well which would give it a decent amount of functionality.

Both charm and terror can NOT be blocked by Fealty.

That's lame, I feel pretty damn enfeebled when I get charmed & terrorized.

Max I can push around 450MP on /NIN and I personally love Chivalry. We were toying around with Hydra last night and It was just VERY nice having so much MP and knowing that I could spam cure my co-tank incase he had generated too much.

I've been thinking about going Guardian after my next Chivalry merit which would cap me out. Thanks for the insight into this JA, I'm definitely going to unlock it over the weekend and give it a whirl.

Sentinel even without Guardian is already insane in the hate mitigation. I was going PLD/NIN with only +19 Enmity and with the Sentinel, I could definitely notice the boost. I have a lot more enmity gear incase anyone was like lol19. But I was testing my PLD/NIN out, since i'm normally on NIN/DRK for HNM events.

Having Guardian capped, I have to say it WAS very noticable before the Sentinel patch, now, it doesn't seem as noticable as it has been in terms of hate difference.
Granted, I could've just gotten used to it or something and this is simply a placebo-effect.

Also, regarding Chivalry, I don't see a reason to merit it further than unlocking, I don't remember a single situation where I was waiting for the timer since I got it(right at release). Unless you guys have SAMs or something, I'm not sure how you'd get TP so fast that you outTP your timer consistently

Yes, I don't get how anyone could possibly get 150-300 tp in the course of 15 short minutes either.

I get enough TP to Chivalry in about 8-9 minutes on PLD/WAR, alot longer on PLD/NIN....mainly the whole "timing Devotion / Chivalry" works very well for most HNM fights, just gotta tell a WHM beforehand what you're doing.

Realistically though, even on pld/nin, you're going to be getting tp everytime you get hit by melee / ws, and if you're engaged so that you can parry, you'll randomly be getting tp from a swing as well. In all honesty, you -should- be able to get at least over 100-200 tp back between chivs without too much effort.

I completely forgot about factoring in Spirits Within TP during Chivalry cooldown lol. It takes my PLD/WAR about 4-6 minutes after i Spirits Within during Chivalry cooldown @ 15min, so ideally i'd have around 200TP to fill my MP bar up in about 5 minutes.

PLD/NIN TP has been difficult for me to gain, between shadows eating up shield blocks and hitting for 0 damage w/o Sword merits, i gain 200TP or so in about 8-9 minutes. With Ballad 2, Refresh, Parade Gorget, Chivalry isnt nearly as useful as it is on PLD/WAR imo....i've hardly used it on PLD/NIN unless those "oh shit" scenarios happen.

Chivalry I unlocked and have never meritted it further.

One big "issue" I'm presented with while using it is in alot of fights where magic damage comes into play (Tiamat, Proto-Ultima, etc), I'm changing out my weapons for resist sets, so like on Tiamat, every 2 minutes my TP is being reset. I don't think I ever get higher then 30 or 40 TP during that fight, so Chivalry usually isn't adding much

Remember, every time a shadow is lost, enmity reduces. Also, enmity reduces naturally over time no matter what you're doing. /NIN will definately see benefits as good as, if not better than /war. (Between phalanx 2, diamondhide, etc etc, a /war isn't losing much hate from taking dmg on the things a /war will tank, whereas losing hate from shadows absorbing really adds up over time)

Losing shadows is probably the equivalant of a 10 damage hit on PLD/WAR, if you can manage to keep hate and frequently recast shadows on PLD/NIN, you're not gonna see the hate loss from shadows add up.

I don't honestly think that the hate from each shadow being absorbed is that much lower than the hate from simply casting utsusemi in the first place.

I didn't see a difference, I had level 2 Guardian, perhaps level 3 is amazingly better. The only thing I got /WAR for is kiting, that's more because i'm too lazy to have to cast on the move and you don't get hit much kiting anyway, so FOR ME, Guardian was rubbish and I de-levelled it.

Ended up with Fealty and Chivalry - both have the occasional benefit, Chivalry for dynamis (in a big fight I always have mp and prefer the spirits spam for hate) and Fealty for dirty mobs that have para/silence abilities. Just my preference and the way I make my tank pt fight .
