Most big fights involve mobs that are only taking a fraction of the dmg from spirits within in the first place, so I don't know how much extra hate a 100 dmg spirits is going to help you hold.

Certainely not as much as say, popping on a berserkers torque for 10 seconds and cure iving yourself.

Must admit i'd never though of that...

Yea sometimes it's a total waste, but I really hate the size of the cooldown on Chivalry.

Only reason to kill Hydra lol, load up your PLD/NINs with the Torque.

<_< yeah I thought that was common knowledge by now, we got like 4 or 5 PLDs the thing (and myself >_>) then just stopped. It's really helpful for kirin too.

because realistically seen you'd use PLD/WAR on oh so many things without an Aegis(heck with Aegis too)
On anything I would use PLD/WAR on for the extra hate I would probably just go as ridill WAR and blink it away while doing damage.

With 2 (blink-)tanks that work together properly, getting 150-200TP isn't as easy as you make it sound.
Things like Plague, Weapon Switching for resist-sets, not-getting hit frequently all contribute to a fairly slow TP gain on PLD/NIN.

Also engaging on many mobs isn't necessarily the best idea, unless you like more roars, hades, physical bulwark, whatever else a mob can use to be just fkin annoying.

It prolly takes me like 15-25mins to get to 300TP which doesn't make it worth putting extra points in Chivalry.
However, looking at the other options, im probably staying at 3 Guardian/1Fealty/1Chivalry until I need chivalry/fealty meritted down for whatever reason may come up.

You'd never use Chivalry at 300% TP anyway. Using it at around 150% TP gives you like 250-260 MP, if you go over 200% you're getting your entire MP bar back. So unless your Taru, I don't think you'd ever use it above 225% or so.

Anyway, I have Guardian merited simply because I did it before the Sentinel update. It may make a nice difference (on stuff like Ouryu and Faf/hogg, where you're /WAR) but I haven't really noticed.

I do have 1 merit and Fealty, though, and I LOVE it. It's really useful, especially to block Ouryu's petrify, JoT's petrify, Khimaira's Paralyze/Stun, and Cerberus's Paralyze.

Also, another really nice use for it: In the case of KS99 Horns of War, or during King Behemoth, use it whenever you think you might get hit (like when you're turning around, for Chlevnik, to pull it back up/down the hill) and his physical attacks will NOT stun you. Pretty nifty ability. Could theoretically help you range a Meteor that you might otherwise not be able to do due to Stun, because there are always those occasions where you accidentally get hit during kiting.

But yeah, there are many many instances in which Fealty is useful. :D

I may actually remove my Guardian merits and merit Fealty more.

I've thought about meriting Fealty since it's uses are pretty much universal, but i felt like capping Guardian would be more efficient for hate control since i could depend on WHMs for -na spells in almost every situation i'd use Fealty for HNMs. Ballista-wise, i've heard its pretty god damn sick but i dont really do Ballista much either =/

Side note: Probably ofn and all that but i did a test on Chivalry about a week after that update back in August and found out MND affected MP return, though i had no +MND gear for it, i had around -20 MND in gear on and my MP return at 300TP was significantly less than with higher MND. Has there been any long-term study about this on the web somewhere? I've never really had the chance to look (KI loads up way too slow, etc).
