Complete noob question, but what makes Demonoid different from say...thepiratebay, mininova, etc? I know it's a private torrent site, but clueless as to the rest

You have to share a lot I believe... but the speeds should be remarkably faster this way. Plus, you could download torrents that are private-only, so less people downloading it = more speed for you.

What ive found to be true is that I can find 95% of the things I want at Demonoid, when I look on thepiratebay they dont have it, and other places arnt seeded anymore.

With Demonoid, youre banned if you dont keep a good ratio, so everything is seeded for quite some time, and since the site also supports external torrents (I find a torrent @ piratebay and can upload it at Demonoid), it makes finding files even easier.

As long as you seed till your ratio is 1.0, you should be fine.

Crap I havn't been seeding stuff... I'm so used to dling and deleting ever since the day I got caught for DLing a movie! ! Hopefully that day won't come again because that = another full wipe of everything I havn't bought. !

Personally I browse newsgroups for my downloads. And for a very small fee I can get an exclusive no limit (size or speed) connection to download whatever I want. I think it works out to about 5.00 a month. I know paying to download stuff... but when I can get screeners of new release movies days after they come out at 500+K/sec its worth it.

If anyone is interested I can provide links if you PM me. I rather not post the links on a public forum.

I'm kind of confused...i've been downloading this file for a while, but the website still claims i've downloaded 0 and upload 0, and my ratio is also 0... does it only get updated once a file is complete, or do I neeed to do something in my client to ensure that the website is reading it?

Well if you notice up top, it says it's updated once a day, so that's probably why.

not that, shouldn't it update the download and upload numbers though? They're still both on 0.... I know the ratio is once a day, I assumed the numbers of how much kbs of down/uploads were done were put in there automatically before that though.
