It says that some clients don't work with their ratio tracking, that could be your problem.

The upload/download stats, as well as the ratio, are updated once a day, not live, as well.

I'm using utorrent, which is on that list.

If it ALL updates once a day I guess it's fine.... I just assumed that the ratio was the only thing was wasn't live.

Yea everything is daily. I was worried at first, too, but I checked this morning and it was all updated.

ul, dl and ratio are updated within 24 hours when you stop ul/dl'n.

So if you nonstop dl and ul, the stats will never update. So, just keep it in mind, stats arnt sent to demonoid untill bittorrent stops running. If youre a seeder and never close bittorrent for a few minutes, your stats will never update.

Also, so the only time you stop is when you turn off your computer, dont do that. Stop bittorrent and give it a few minutes (like 5) to send the info to demonoid.

Another problem people see with ratios if that you ul/dl or login from another IP, it may not update properly. I did this once at work; i logged in to check my uploaded torrents, and when I came home and continued to ul, my stats didnt update for the day because demoind didnt realize I was at my house. So if you browse demonoid from work or school, and before you want to ul/dl just logout/login or browse the site so that demonoid realizes that youve changed IPs.

Btw, I said within 24 hours, the site doesnt update at the same time everyday, its just sometime within 24 hours since youve closed bittorrent.

The only torrent I've downloaded from demonoid was from an offsite tracker, so I'm surprised it even registered any data of mine -- unless I inadvertently downloaded a demonoid torrent from mininova recently. Seems kinda weird to me how it works, but your explanation cleared it up a bit.

How about if I keep seeding even after I finish downloading a certain item....will it only update after I hit Stop on that specific torrent and let it cool off while the application is open for a few minutes to send the information over?

Netz, a torrent is defined when it is made, not where its uploaded, so yeah, you can dl a demonoid torrent off of mininova, but since that .torrent is registered with demonoids tracker, it will still know youre using it. On the same token, if you dl a torrent that someone made for mininova off of demonoid, demonoid wont count that as being part of the demonoid network and wont get any credit for ul/dl. These types of torrents can be easily seen with a red (external) text next to the title name, these dont count towards your ul/dl.

Exo, it will only count if you stop for a bit. From what I read from utorrent users is that they hit stop, wiat a few minutes, exit the torrent completly and wait another few minutes. Though you may be fine by just doing one of these instead of both.

Apparently, uploading more than 5GB a day is very bad. So if you're an insight customer, you're just fine as long as you stay below 5GB per day, anything above that gets you flagged and a phone call.

Getting a high ratio later is hard. Im trying to reach 3.00 so I get a shiney icon, but right now im at 2.08 with 53/25gb, I have to get to 75 for 3.00 D:

If you want a high ratio and not have to worry about it later on, dl a movie, and ul untill you get youre desired ratio. Lets say 6/1, later on, always atleast seed to 1.0 and your ratio will always be 6.00. I trying to up my ration just a few weeks ago, and it took me awhile to get .50, it gets harder the more you dl.

Luckily ive gotten about 10gb up by seeding the Afro Samurai 1-5 torrent I made on friday.
