i did this before all the pld updates came out

    used nothing special

pld, thf, mnk, blm, rdm, whm was our setup

we had a good and skilled team, but the best way to combat this awful fight was the fact that I brought somewhere in the low 70s worth of hi potions.

i brought enough to cap my inventory and asked my whm to bazaar the rest for me so i could buy them mid fight

Won tanking on PLD w/ Earth Staff for Omega/Ultima, used S/S for the mammets to take them down faster. Had used about 35 Hi-Pots total (more on Ultima) between Omega/Ultima, a big help for this fight would also be a couple stacks of Mulsums, they're expensive but very effective cause of their fast usage time.

I dont think i can say anything else that hasnt already been said in this topic.

I've done this fight many times, with PLD tanks or with NIN tanks, as well as before the PLD updates.

Aside from whole evasion thing on the Mammets part that everyone covered, and since we've got all the nice buffs now, a PLD has alot easier of a time with Omega/Ultima. A PLD with really high HP (1500+ at 60) will have very few problems staying alive/keeping hate as long as they have a steady source of Refresh on them, and are not using an Earth Staff.

Things only tend to get tricky when the support jobs aren't quick on Paralyna/Stona/Double Erase and the PLD can't react (JA eaten by paralyze, Petrified, or insane recast on Flash from Chemical Bomb), or after Pile Pitch's hate reset, and I felt safer with a PLD who could spike hate better than a ninja.

I also found PLD to be way more useful in that last zerg if you're running low on time and require an Invincible. COR as well seems to be a sickeningly good addition to this fight, Ice Shot / Earth Shot will be of tremendous help, Random Deal and the 2 hour are more beneficial to a PLD than a NIN i'd say as well. All said and done, I really prefer a PLD in this fight over a NIN.

Ive won this fight with Pld and Ninja tanks, and it may be the Blm in me, but Id take a skilled Pld over a equally skilled ninja for this fight any day of the week.

As noted before, make sure your tank has nesscary meds, a good amount of Hi pots, and (goes w/o saying, knows how to play their job).

I honestly dont know why some people are nin onry for this fight, the times I went in with a Pld seemed so much smoother and less stressful overall.

Ninja Edit : This took place before Pld job updates.

    Diante :D

I've only ever done this with PLD and not once with a BRD, and I've done it a few times now. Each time Diante was the the Paladin and I went in as a sub tank on NIN.

Mammets: NIN equipt in full evasion gear aggros them all with out claiming any. PLD + Melee + Mages all pick them off one by one. They have horrible accuracy so with haste and an evasion build the NIN should have no problem staying alive if the mages spot him a cure here and there.

Omega: Rest to full before engaging. For the first 25% the PLD (heavily stocked on MP and HP meds) should be able to hold his own. He should be using a ton potions to self cure. At 25% the PLD usually died to Pile Pitch followed by melee hits with shock spikes on. A sub tank here (I did this on NIN) can take over and tank the last 25% easily.

NIN for the first 75% of the fight should have on full DD gear and be meleeing, then switch to tanking gear and jump in when/if the PLD goes down.

Ultima: Once again rest up before pulling. Again the PLD spam cures himself with his own potions. WHM will be pre-occupied with paralyna and erase spam.

NIN once again is DD and reverts into tanking gear only if the PLD dies.

Keep DOT on Ultima at all times and if you're going to wipe, do it in a place where you can RR safely. You should have enough time to reraise and re-engage once with out running out of time.
