Every time I hear someone say the cliche "I dont notice race", I call bullshit. There is nothing, nothing more democratic, PC and generalized fake, just to fit in kindness than that.

My wife is Japanese. I loved her enough to spend the rest of my life with her and have a child.

I see her race. I know that my child will be shunned as a mut, a half breed. I'm not naive. She is different in appearence and culture than I am, which is German.

That doesnt mean I hate her for it.

Dont say you dont see race, you do. And you do notice the obvious cultural difference between a generic (meaning whatever heritage) white american and a black american. Theres a difference, and it doesnt make you a horrible person for knowing (or "seeing") it. Hell, you dont even have to like the cultural, sociological difference. That's called freedom.

im biracial, my dad is filipino and my mom is irish

i grew up living nextdoor to mexicans, and was babysat by big black ladies

i started school in florida, and school there is a real big mixture there, then i moved to maryland and went to a predominantly black school, then middleschool in another mixed (white/black mostly) school, and now im in college, and i see things i've never seen before

i can *confidantly* say that i dont see race, i see people first and foremost, and thats how i was raised i guess. do white people make artificial distinctions between other white people based on hair/eyecolor? when you look at it that way, its kinda petty, dont you think?

i dont really think about race unless im particularly fixated on it (like a race-specific group of friends)

if a black woman i've never seen asked me to do a survey while i was walking through the mall (i hate that), and you asked me what i did, i'd tell you "some lady asked me to do a survey" because i really dont classify people based on race unless i want you to find them? lol
