AoE Hate equation question

I was wondering on a kinda silly question that doesnt matter too much. . .
was wondering if for the hate scale generator if AoE spells on pt casted by a member in pt looking like one or the other

A) X x Y
B) X^Y

Where X is the constant for the hate spell and Y is the number of people hit from your spell

Or does equation vary from spell to spell (aside from constant)

yea i didnt think it was exponential but with mazurka when you hit 6 people with it its like a bene or invincible. And a friend brought this question up to me and i was like hmmm

I dont see why it wouldnt be X * Y. It wouldnt make much sense imo if it was exponential (unless the exponant is under 1)

the processing power for an exponential is higher than for a multiplication, for that reason alone it would make sense to multiply.
if X is 0.25 for example, it won't hurt to do 0.25^6 - you don't end up with huge numbers, but that's still no reason to do it that way.

mazurka gains a lot of hate because you can use it to escape from fights which are going badly when the mob has normal movement speed; SE want to discourage brds from using it for that purpose since you are meant to die if you screw up on exp mobs^^

if spells like protectra are effected by party member # you would notice how weak for hate they are when duoing as opposed to casting in full pt, although you might have to spam a lot of spells to get a good test for that.
