Aye, as far as i know on Siren, NA-wise, 2 LSs have beaten it, one only once. And the one that has beaten it multiple times disbanded are reformed in the last few months because their main tank/leader quit (Georgethepimp). That's why I've made this guide, because i want more people to be able to beat this, as bahamut's mask is imo better than Aegishjalmer.

afaik my ls is the only NA one on carbuncle who wins this BC and from the looks of it we seem to be the only NA ls even remotely interested in doing this BC since it has good loot.

I'm interested in seeing a screenshot of your gear selection for Flare Rukeshin.

I'm working on an update now, and just threw a bunch of junk into the picture with the gear I wore. This is what it looks like atm:

    http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/2783/agear5rt.jpg

I borrowed Ice's bow and the linkshell's Minerva's Ring for it. The pictures of magic damage on the top left were basically what I got hit for most of the time if timers were behind or something, they'd almost always get completely resisted. Gigaflare damage was steady at 646 every time other than the resists which are pictured below those numbers, and the resists seemed to happen around 40% of the time for Gigaflare.

The Megaflare damage was steady at about 241 as well, other than the resists pictured below that happened around 60% of the time.

That's incredibly arousing, in a not quite homosexual kind of way.

I've been considering saccing some MDB (say Spectral Belt or Lamian Kaman) for some Fire Resist for Bahamut's flares.

Does it affect the flares that strongly? I saw it mentioned in this thread but I don't really get a full feel for how well it works on flares.

And I own all this gear anyways, I'm just wondering what works better.

Megflares never broke 0 damage, Giga flare did 100 damage. Like i said, it's broken.

as long as you can knock a little damage off the flares they arn't that big a deal. don't think they warrant bringing a pld just to deal with them. hardest part is at 20% and lower where he spams roar/dispel/impulse crap, that drives me nuts.

With fire resist build I'm assuming?

Yeah I ended up playing around with a few different equipment combinations before settling on that one, and I think it's just about the best I could use.

Never thought to use Rampart originally since the other tank we have (who's almost always a PLD) is usually getting ready to pull the next Wyrm to where they camp some distance away. If it doesn't end up being too much trouble I'll try to get it when it's up.

But on another note I don't think it's something that should be completely relied on IMO. Two PLDs might change that, but depending on the speed of the fight Rampart won't always be up for flare. In either case relying on buffs alone is kinda dangerous since sometimes Bahamut is just an evil bitch, and will do stuff like Horrid Roar right before or cast spells and waste time when he should be using a __gaflare. Like, in rough fights I usually just ask for shell IV + Haste to save MP.

EDIT: I know what you mean Deme, I swear one day I'm going to just pop a vein from how aggravated I get when Bahamut goes into spam-annoying-shit mode. I end up going through stacks and stacks of food every time we do these fights.

We use, as a tank PT, 2PLD, NIN, 2WHM, and BRD. PLDs rotate ramparts. Don't know if he used a fire resist build, i think he used strait damage mitigation gear.

We just finished a relic horn last night, so PLD/NIN is definitely the order of the day for us with this fight now

    Edit: Thanks Tyche

Are there any actual numbers for how much Rampart's stoneskin absorbs?

Seems like 400 to 500 as just a guess based on Tyche's numbers, but I haven't really heard much else about it other than a bunch of "omg wing for 0 on faf/nid!"

It seems kind of sporadic to me, I'm about to do Proto-Ultima in an hour so maybe I can get hard numbers off of CB

To prevent rampart from getting dispelled, we sit bahamut at x1%(91, 81, 71etc) til all the BLMs and PLDs are ready. When ready, BLMs immediatly push his HP past the 10% threshold and PLD will hit rampart. Seems to work like a charm. Maybe one of our PLDs will see this and elaborate on how rampart works exactly, because i have no fucking clue. All i know is it made my job in that BC extremely fucking easy.

Quoting myself for the fuck of it.

I realized after I got in I forgot signet for resentment, but regardless.

2 CB with Rampart were 1012 and 1028
2 CB without were 1218 both times

Edit : One CB also hit me for 1500ish, forgot to ss that one

Edit Again: I just realized the first 2, the 1012 and the 1500+ were during lightsday, then it switched over to Darksday for the rest of them. That would go within the assumed damage range of 500ish

Nah, even something like CoP 6-4 is harder.
6-4 can be won with 3-4 ppl if you have DRKs with Merc Kris

Speaking of this BC, yay for my monk having Bahamut's Hose now!

And yeah, Rampart is broken good on Flares, didn't trouble our PLDs at all tonight.

Out of curiosity, which model do Bahamut's Hose use? I know the icons aren't much of a basis for anything, but insofar as I can tell they look like the regular old level 36 stuff.
