Because I got my M.A. in French, I had originally applied to the bilingual GM position when SE first announced it in July, 2006. However, after filling out all the exams, language defense batteries, etc., I was told the following: (this is copied directly from the email I received directly from the HR director at SE's recruiting agency in LA)
"Thank you for following up with me. Ultimately, Square Enix was never looking for a French bilingual candidate. They do have the positions, but are full. I'm not sure I can really help you right now. I still have you resume and questionnaire on file, so if something down the line pops up, I will be sure to contact you."
That is it. Verbatim.
Oh, look! What's this? He just sent me another email... (This is all true, btw. I probably am not going to email him back, though. The phrase "too little, too late" keeps popping into my head, and the sheer organizational incompetence present in the original act of posting a job offering for a job that never existed made me lose a lot of faith in the company.)

Reminds me of a late night JP Fafnir camp where 2 linkshells helped each other keep fafnir up for hours. We called a GM and they said they were killing it going into hour 3 of fafnir being up lol. The GM asked if we had any more questions. So we took advantage of the monent to be smart asses lol. We asked: have you played ff11 before? Response: i got to level 50 and quit. we told him we'd get his paper for him if he took action on fafnir being held lol. He got made at that and he said he wouldnt speak to us any more. Then we said ok thanks for nothing asshole or something along those lines and he replied. We called him out on being a liar cause he said he wasnt gonna speak to us any more lol. Then our guy went to the jail to have a warning (was released after fafnir died)
Just a cool side story lol.
I can guess 3 people: Smurv, discordian.... or Corvus?![]()

And really, how long do you think I could stay employed as a GM? I doubt I would make it a week before my craving to ban decimated an entire server...
You do that and the game might be worth coming back to.Originally Posted by Septimus
You'd have to be a senior GM to ban anyone ;o.
Fixed and thanks for killing a joke.Originally Posted by BRP

Any nab after 3+ years of this game will have a level 75 job. They should bump up the requirement as more and more players are leveling a second, third, and fourth job up to 75.
First thing I thought of when I read that requirement were players like Ronstadt(sp?).Originally Posted by Norelco
God help us all if he became a GM.
But the good news is that Birhair still wouldn't be qualified.Originally Posted by Vertabreaker
