Every single online IQ test I have taken was 10 points higher than the person with a Ph.D said I had.

EDIT: That should be "at least 10 points higher".. Doing 5 things at once and not paying attention to what I type.

I'm not going to cut and paste sections of my mental health records on a website, especially when my argument is that IQ has nothing to do with critical thinking SKILLS which are taught while IQ is something you are born with.

Though if you check other sections of this forum you will see I was the first person in the world to see the pattern in the penguin breeding, so you can assume my IQ is higher than average.

If you want to assume my IQ is 83 I am ok with that. It puts you in a impossible to defend position.

If my IQ is 83(which is far below the average American) and I can see through the bullshit of this fox news article than IQ isn't the problem here.

    I win.

I took an IQ test a few years back, it gave me a 138. Therefore, I am better than you. Is this what you are trying to say ozz?

If you need someone to help you feel better about yourself than you might want to try other avenues. There are good therapist out there that can help you heal and recover from whatever put you in that vulnerable position in the first place.

Once you recover from those issues you can start to use your mind to explore what the true worth of a person is at any of your local coffee shops with first year philosophy students in college.

After that you can do some deep introspection to discover faults in your thinking patterns that prevent you from fully analyzing situations and keeping an open mind at the same time.

When you are done you will be at the level of the rest of us average people and can come in and discuss issues with us grown ups.

Sigh.. I shouldn't have to put this much effort in Saturday morning. Just know I am trying to help you out here.

Having 160 IQ won't help you if you are suffering from emotional defects. Those needs to feel better will overpower your intellect and cause you to see things in a skewed and incorrect manner. Not saying that emotions are a bad thing but we have to learn, understand, and take care of them or they will make us stupid. It is like putting the horse before the cart.. the purpose of emotions is to give us driving energy in order to carry out what our intellect decides.

Having 160 IQ won't help if you are suffering from spiritual** defects. Self-centered and egotistical agendas prevent you from looking outside of yourself and being able to listen and understand viewpoints that are not your own. Furthermore we are born unable to understand there are things in this world more important and bigger than ourselves. Specifically I am talking about "truth". If you can't appreciate and have deep respect for the truth being more important than yourself you can't lay aside your own bias and have an accurate depiction of the world around you.

Having 160 IQ won't help if you are suffering from errors in logic. This is a very broad topic but the most common flaw I see on the interweb are basic logical fallacies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_Fallacies is a good list of common ones and my least favorite is ad hominem arguments. It would be ignorant for example to say that this Fox News is wrong here because they are Fox News. It is easy to pick apart issues in their story that are at fault and blast their sources to find fault so this isn't a big deal, but what would you do if Fox News published an article that stated that the earth is round? You wouldn't say they are wrong and the world is actually flat because it is "right wing media".

What is the big factor in all of this? Effort. The reason a lot of Americans are viewed as "stupid" has nothing to do with IQ at all. It is because in a well off society where all basic needs are easily met and there is much security it is easy to become lazy, fat, and content. Not all Americans are this way, but there is no simple solution to this problem short of a life changing event that puts us back hundreds of years.

Speaking of lazy I may of made a few errors here.. this isn't the proper forum or thread for this type of thing but I think the gist of my argument is clear.

**(By spiritual I mean fundamental questions of man, not belief in God though religion used properly can accomplish the same thing. Religion used improperly can ruin a person's spirituality as witnessed by any religious "I'm better than you" zealot. Most people develop these concepts by communication and contact with other people.)
