turkey which is an islamic country is being considered for entry into the EU, although it's likely to be barred until the human rights record there improves, so yeah in general europe is a muslim friendly place.

there is a small minority of far right-wingers, but they spend a lot of time in courts trying to prove what they say isn't inciting racial hatred, i think only austria has a big problem with racism in the mainstream.

i think by proportion there is a good representation of muslims in various european parliaments, and the balance is improving.

It's not the content of the info (which is that he went to an Islamic school (a Madrassa) for two years from 6-8 about 40 years ago) it's the context, which is what fox news provided (or didn't provide). The context was that some Madrassas now, in this century, (not 40 years ago) preach anti-American sentiment.

Yes I have, and I don't believe I said that this is a problem limited only to America. However, it is more broadly showcased when America is under constant global scrutiny. The mistakes America makes (Bush) end up garnering more attention than some small European country who might make a similar mistake. I never said only the American populus is infected with idiocy -- Merely that said fault is more openly apparent here due to the higher level of attention payed to American politics on a global scale.

Yeah, the guy gives very pretty speeches, but how much legislation has he authored and how much experience does he have with domestic and foreign policy? Maybe if Hilary and Barack spent less time doing photo ops and a little more time working on legislature that actually helps the low to middle income folks, either one of them would be a decent Presidential candidate.

I agree with Sept, he has nothing of a real record to fall back on. However, I think this might just be what America needs... a fresh person to mold into a leader. Many don't want Hilary for a reason. She's coming from a big American scandal with her husband and lolMonica. On toppa that, she did kinda FUCK UP with her proposal to reform Health Care way back when (she gave a good try tho, lol). And she's a bit hardcore with her views.

You do have to keep in mind however, she's from a staunch Republican background; tho she's a Democrat now, she carries alot of her old views. This was all I was trying to get at. Not saying anything is wrong with John, it's just the popular opinion. Clinton is 1st, Obama is 2nd, and Edwards is 3rd in terms of potiential Democratic presidential candidates. He also did struggle a bit in 2004, and simply withdrew from the race, do to low support.
