shes not going to ban viiolent video games lol. Like most people in the older generations they may not like them but that doesnt mean they will eliminate them. Its too big an industry to just shut it down wihout huge effects. She played a major role in the Clinton years and many of Bills policies were influenced by her. The only real huge fault I can see is the fact she voted yes to going into Iraq.

I'd rather see Obama elected than Clinton.

Re: [OFFICIAL] Hillary Clinton running for 2008 President!

I really am not a huge Hilary fan, I'm kinda looking to see if Obama is going to try.., he's a bit young and new to the Senate, but I want to hear more of his ideas at the very least. Feb 10th, what what.

Its sad when your basis on voting for someone is simply because of who they aren't.

There is a chance. It's quite possible enough women vote for her just because she is a woman. Most of this country doesn't look at what our canidates actually stand for.

She could get votes for being a woman, having a "famous" name and other such things. Clinton was a good president other then his lame sex scandel. I am sure alot of people will think that Hillary will have the same views as Bill and such. Nobody thought GWB would get elected and we fucked that up TWICE.

All I can say is, please actually figure out what the canidates stand for and vote.
That would be the most retarded thing to base your vote on. lol, she is a woman vooooooooooottttttttte for her!!! :/

For those of you asking what she has done, even going to wikipedia, as precarious as that is, will give you a relatively decent synopsis of what she has done.

Barak Obama, on the other hand, is the one political 'experts' (whatever that means) talk about, in terms of accomplishments. It's not that he's black; in fact, if you've read his books you find he doesn't have the stigma associated with slavery, having grown up around Hawaii. It's the fact that, as a junior senator, he has not really had much time to be in and around Washington.

I actually support Obama as a potential candidate, but not for this coming election; it is too soon. Conversely, even since her failed bid for universal health care in the 1990's, Mrs. Clinton has been generally active in the political circles associated with the Presidency.

It's all fine to say you don't support her, even if your reasons are stupid and under-supported. But, the great thing about both Clinton and Obama is that they are not very representative of 'black people' and 'women', in terms of the stigma associated with both groups. Obama as I said grew up in Hawaii and does not spread slavery and suffrage guilt wherever he goes; he also does not try to impress upon us that he is black. Likewise, Clinton, despite how much you may or may not like the way politicians do things, has actively tried to accomplish goals and take leadership. She has also proven capable of said leadership positions.

Her vote for going into Iraq is a stupid and dead arguement; so many people regret voting for going into Iraq that to bring it up is merely trying to open old wounds. It's not like you knew we were being lied to about WMD's at the time, so, shut the hell up.

Besides, Clinton at least seems serious, as opposed to Nancy Pelosi's now infamous 'touch the gavel' picture, or the part where the Democratic House I and many others had hoped for spent 20 of the first 100 hours going into tangents about football games.

I guess, the point is don't post one sentence saying you think she is stupid without at least reading where she has gone and what she has accomplished as a leader. Some of it may be for political support, sure, but it's not like you go anywhere by saying 'fuck you' to everybody else and being self-righteous to a fault.

Then again what do any of us know.

Well just went to his official website and for the most part he sounds like a straight shooter. However he is just like any other politician out there. Takes a stand but never says how they are gonna fix the issue. So he wants the troops out of Iraq but i cant find one sentence of how he plans to do this and actually have Iraq become a successful nation. I ain't saying that Iraq was a right or wrong decision but i am saying if we pull out we need to make sure they can grow and not fall back to the way they were. We did what we did but now i want to hear what these great political minds are gonna do about it. We just gonna pullout and say "You deal with what we started" to the Iraq people. That makes us look even more shitty than we already do. Then i was reading about his stance on the patriot act and yes he has a lot of good points but i want to know what his solution to the problem is. All the patriot act did was make what the government did before illegally a legal act. He is just like all the other politicians in the fact that his hind sight is always 20/20.

I'm sorry but this last election i didn't vote for the democrat in Montana because i wanted to stop the war, I did it because the Republican running was involved in the whole Jack Abramoff scandal and well i hate crooks. I think a lot of people felt the same way and voted for the lesser of 2 evils and that is just plain SAD.

I don't want to hear about what we "Should have done" from these candidates, I want to hear what their solutions are gonna be for the problems that exist today. Sorry for the rant but i am just tired of hearing about the bad decisions of GW when we all know HE AIN'T COMING BACK. He has 2 years to do absolutely nothing if he wanted to. It is what it is now tell me how you gonna fix it you damn politicians.

Edit: Found a really good website http://www.ontheissues.org/Senate/Hillary_Clinton.htm

You can check all the politicians and see their voting records. A great way to inform yourself so you can vote about the issues and not just who they are.

Well, it's not like you can move to a magical land with politicians who don't do back parlor politics sometimes.

In Japan Abe Shinzo is rolling back Economic and Educational reforms instituted by the former Prime Minister, and in doing so is destroying a lot o the ground recovered since Koizumi took office. At the same time, he is re-instituting border-line militarism under the guise of 'ethics' and 'patriotism' into schools.

Britain and Australia suffer from leaders who are at the beck and call of Curious George. They also do not have candidates of sufficient appeal to warrant a massive change. Hell, an effective hostile takeover is occuring in Britain, with the ex-chequer Brown and his strange deal with Mr. Blair.

Germany suffers from population issues, Russia is drowning itself in vodka. France has riots that are a result of the government unable to account for and aid its immigrant population (sounds familiar). Italy has such huge problems with its' banking system that the country almost had to file for bankruptcy.

The point is, in no country is life all skittles and beer. Saying you're going to move away is immature; if you have such strong political ideals why not express yourself and be heard, that's the goddamn point of representative Democracy. Nothing will change if you don't make yourself heard even on such a fundamental level as just voting.

That is the number one thing which infuriates me with people. If you don't even make sure your opinion is counted, you have no standing to complain when shit doesn't go your way. And yet, every day, I hear more and more people complaining about Bush, or complaining about Iraq, or whatever they want to be complaining about. And when I ask them "Did you vote?", 75% of the time, I get a 'no' response.

If you don't put forth the time to vote, shut the hell up when things don't go your way.

Good point, lets move to Canada. Or maybe Quebec, it's like Canada but they don't want to be part of Canada. Except for the currency.

Stuff about how Russ Feingold has opinions about what should be done but not solutions to current problems
The thing about Russ Feingold, unlike all these other spineless democrats, is that he voted AGAINST the iraq war, and AGAINST the patriot act. His solution to the "iraq problem" is to bring our troops home immediately. The welfare of the iraqi people isn't his concern, the safety of American soldiers is. It's been his position all along, it's not like he created a problem and then is unwilling to fix it when political winds blow the other way. His solution to the Patriot Act is...to repeal it. That is a solution to the stripping of liberties it presents.

Unlike, well, basically every other Senator/representative/governor/mayor he cannot be bought. He refuses money even from THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY of which he is a member. And it's not because he's personally wealthy - he is in fact by many estimations the poorest Senator. Yet he still wins elections and reelections, by being a man of principle. The "worst" thing he did was support Bush's nomination of John Ashcroft. He did this on principle, believing that a president should be allowed to choose his own cabinet. He basically hates Ashcroft's policies, being the only Senator to vote against the Patriot act, but again, he actually has integrity.

Read his Wikipedia page, the man is a badass (as far as legislators go). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russ_Feingold

Unfortunately, he's declined to run for president in 2008, and as a twice-divorced and currently unmarried Jew, I feel he probably has little chance if he ever decides to run.
