The first rule you are taught in any research methods course is "correlation does not imply causation".

And where did you hear that crime is not reduced in the United States? This article features statistics from the department of Justice and the FBI and shows a downward trend in violent crime. In fact, violent crime rose sharply in the late 70s and 80s, when Pong and Pac-Man were the video game fare. I guess this means that the Atari 2600 was responsible for gang violence...

It isn't illegal to see a R movie when you are 16 nor is it illegal for a movie theater to sell you a ticket. There are no laws in the federal books and if there is some specific state out there with a law about this I haven't heard of it.

Crime in general may be down but Violent crime is going up. Will link to Toronto Star article once I can find it (only have actual paper need to find it online).

The government needs to cut back on all of that, thats why we have such a horrid national debt problem. We need to stop throwing money at things, and actually try and fix them.

Sadly I doubt it is going to happen.

I could get into "contributing to the delinquency of a minor" or "distribution of pornography" but I won't. (edit: maybe I will) Most movie theaters abide by these rules voluntarily. Many video game stores do not abide by the ESRB ratings voluntarily. Because movie theaters abide by the recommendations, legistators feel that no further action is necessary. Because video game stores do not, legislators feel further action is necessary. Selling GTA: SA to a 12 year old is, as far as I'm concerned, "contributing to the delinquency of minors". I...don't really see how anyone could say that it isn't? Doing so is illegal, and if video game stores do not voluntarily stop doing such illegal actions, legislators will come down on them harder. Don't blame Hilary Clinton, blame your local retailer.

Yes, we are DYING to see your link to evidence that violent crime is going up when every single other source says otherwise.

EDIT: If you really think selling GTA to a 12 year old is "contributing to the delinquency of minors", contact your local DA office and have them press charges against your local retailers.

hmm as much as I don't want another Republican(lolbush) in the office, I surely will be voting against Clinton if she makes the prime candidate.

I lost all respect for her when the President's wife of the United States says "Hi little girls, if your husband cheats on you, it's OK and you should stick with him." Is essentially the message she sent to thousands of girls who would look up to someone like oh em-gee the president's wife?

Unless Rudy Giuliani runs for the Republicans, I'm going to regret my vote either way. It's really IS fucking sad that everytime I vote I'm voting for who i DON'T want, and even then it's still a snake or a scumbag you're voting for.

Hmm... You have no respect for Hilary for sticking with her husband who cheated on her, yet you would vote for the thrice married Rudolph Giuliani who cheated on his first two wives with the next two wives, and his first wife was his second cousin.

    Fascinating.

Why aren't you raging against the theater chains for not allowing 12 year olds to watch R-rated movies, if you're so convinced that it's their right to see such material?

Simple. Because the theater chains choose to do that.

Laws should only be passed for stuff that is absolutely necessary. The federal government should only pass laws in situations the states can't enforce on their own (like interstate business).

If the local game retailers decide on their own to not sell games to minors than that is ok with me. I'll be damned if Hilary is going to use this is an excuse to create more laws, regulation, and waste of my hard earned money to solve a problem that we can't even prove exists.

It's not an "owned" situation. I just think that most people don't realize the huge double standard going on. That or people don't know what kind of a sleazeball Giuliani is.

Unfortunately, even if people did know, they wouldn't remember, because he was "America's Mayor".

Oh please, the majority of people in New York hated him as of 9-10.

Not to mention the irony that marring your second cousin is the type of thing you would expect someone from Arkansas to do, not someone from New York

Where I live we do have a law that makes it illegal for a retailer to sell M rated games to minors. If a store is caught selling them they are first fined then they lose the ability to sell M rated games for a period of time.
