This year, we have a terrible QB, whether he has future potential or not, with a second string backup that actually has a chance of being good.

Once again, the Bears offense is crystal clear EXCEPT Grossman. Berrian, Clark, Bradley, and Muhammad are all spectacular recievers, but they don't have the numbers because Grossman sucks ass.

Start Griese Bears. There is a chance he'll suck too, but I'd be willing to take that chance.

I'm really beginning to wonder why Lovie Smith does not start Brian Griese as QB. I'm willing to see it happen; after all, this season has been the rise of the second string QBs.

That was during the middle of the season when he did suck terribly. But I have a lot more faith in him now that he's out of his slump (despite that Packers game; I do agree the New Years Eve thing was a lame excuse).

Both teams are freaking hungry for the win here. They're motivated, the game prior for each was a major boost, and they're going into the final stretch with a full head of steam on a collision course and a solid team setup.

Honestly, I haven't seen two semifinal games in the NFL that were this good in a decade, if not more. The Colts have an edge on intestinal fortitude, but not by much. The Bears can produce in post-season play a bit better IMHO- but again, not by much. Neither coach strikes me as someone who'll second-guess, panic, or even blink in this matchup.

Whoever wins, or loses- both are worthy champions. I have to root for Chicago cause it's the family favorite though.

The AFC championship was a great game, between 2 teams that have been there. The NFC championship showed just how much inexperience can show. Also, the game was really god damn boring to everyone but bears fans, unlike the AFC game.

The Colts just won a game after being down 21-3, in the final few minutes. That's is a HUGE intestinal fortitude edge over the bears that barely beat...the fucking seahawks? Bears produce better in postseason? LOL

Tbh the bears remind me a lot of the 2000 Ravens, only the defense isn't quite as good. While I suppose the bears do "deserve" to be there, it is only because of how bad the NFC is.

All in all, I think I will be rooting for the bears, even though I think the chances of them winning are very slim

I've seen teams going into the playoffs that weren't honestly "hungry to win"- that includes such gems as the Philly Eagles, who made the playoff run more an ego trip than a trip to the Super Bowl. This year, both teams aren't bullshitting in any way. They wanted it, they worked for it, they earned it, and didn't act like asses getting there.

Yep. In the divisional and conference championships, statistically the Bears not only outscored the Colts, but yardage-wise the Colts are in a dead heat with the Bears- 716 vs. 711 for the Bears. And that includes one game where the Colts literally did nothing but kick field goals. Against a team that kicked nothing but field goals. Inspirational.

Chicago the same series gets an OT win. Which I'd say gives them some fuel for the Bear's boilers as well. They're coming in after that + a romp over New Orleans in the prior game. It's not the same as that epic game the Colts just had- but it means you're seeing a Bears team coming into the Super Bowl with their heads high and ready to play, not exhausted, injury-riddled, or questioning their ability to compete.

Eh, 13-3 (and that cause of the lock at the end, if there was a reason to go full out it'd have been easily 14-2) record tells me the Bears may be in the weaker conference, but they're not weak. This isn't a game where one team has any overwhelming advantage over the other- both teams and their coaches want this, bad. It's a unique combination of firsts between two teams coached by old friends. Either way it goes, I don't predict a yawnfest.

I pick the Colts to win in somewhat of a letdown game for hardcore football fans. I don't expect it to be as good of a game as the Colts-Pats game. I just don't think the Bears are good enough to make the playoffs if they played in the AFC. I'm not surprised the Bears made the Super Bowl, they were the best NFC team this year.

The bears played the 13th and 19th best scoring defenses in the league, Indianapolis played the FIRST AND SECOND best scoring defenses in the leagues. God, i wonder why the bears were able to score more points as the colts? Yardage wise, the bears played the 11th and 19th best teams in regards to YPG average, the colts played the FIRST and Sixth. You honestly, honestly, think the bears offense is prolific? Bears homers are jokes. Don't pull bullshit out of your ass without facts to back them up. Colts have beaten teams with better defenses statistically than the bears two weeks in a row. Still, i think if the bears defense plays like they did against the saints this past week, the game will be very close, but the bears have to hit on all cylindars to win this game, defense has to play the best they've played all year, and grossman is going to have to make some plays without making mistakes. I just don't think the bears will be able to put it all together and win the game.

Last games of the season they again play teams that are still extremely weak. Also, look at the bears division GB finished at .500 a 6-10 team a 3-13 team. They play them 2 times in the season and won all 6 games.

I'm not detracting from the bears and Im not an indy fan. (I'm a bitter steelers fan actually) but to say that the bears are going to dominate indy after having to play tougher teams is preposterous. I think indy is going to win based on the fact that Indy has a tougher team and I believe that even though the bears have a much more stout defense then indy, I don't foresee that playing a huge factor. Yes they won the takeways battle against NO (a team with a much better offense) but I believe that the fact that its in warm weather and the fact that Peyton finally got that AFC championship monkey off of his back that they're going to be a force to be reckoned with.

All they really need to do is the same game plan they used against the Ravens, better defense IMO, and what they started to do at the end of the first half against the Patriots. Take the 4-8 yard passes most defenses give you or the Colts play call setups for you.

And as far as Grossman throwing to Berrian: do you even watch football? When a QB sees a wide reciever heading down the field and he's only up against single coverage, the QB is going to try to throw the ball past the defender and to the reciever. Berrian was in front of the defender when Grossman threw the ball. The pass kind of sucked, but it went over the Defender's head, and Berrian made a play on the ball. So no, it was not "all Berrian and the defender." Grossman placed the ball where it was supposed to be, and Berrian got the TD.

Oh and I love the "the pass kind of sucked" but he "placed the ball where it was supposed to be." Which is it?
