So, I missed a whole bunch of episodes. Is Starbuck just an illusion, or an 'angel', or what? I was a tad confused when she just disappeared. >_>
    Spoiler: show
I didn't watch most of the last few seasons, but at the beginning of this season Kara found her remains on the old earth they found. So I guess she really did die way back then or something. I don't know why virtually everyone saw her if she was just an illusion though.

I've decided the entirety of season 4 was a figment of my imagination, and never actually happened.

    I liked it... I think.
    Are we spoilering?

    Spoiler: show

I thought it was a bit heavy-handed, and at first I found it a bit hard to buy everybody going native and undoing all of civilization thus-far. There's a big difference between making a normal City, and living in grass huts, tossing all of science and medicine into the sun. Dooming your descendants to hundreds of years of learning things the hard way all over again. Hell, even the first generation would have it pretty damn rough. Realistically I think the characters would have chosen some middle ground... but I guess I understand why the writers chose to play it out so black and white. It makes for a nice loop. And science fiction stories are always cautionary moral tales.

    Woo.

Loved it, very good way to end it. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

Loved it. The "settle down and abandon our technology" thing was a bit weird, but it makes sense for the storyline. It's not realistic, but its good Hollywood. I loved the anthropological references, linking Hera to the jump in human evolution where we went through large surges of evolution.

And so ends the best TV series in the past decade.

Wow. That was fucking awesome. Seriously. I'm like practically bawling atm after watching it.

And the twists and turns in it... very nice. I really enjoyed it. Maybe some were a bit cheesy but still, I love that most of my questions were answered without it seeming rushed... fantastic.

Very good ending, much bawling here.

I went to the Discover thread from Insanecyclone above. Nice read, spoilers, etc.

Below the article there are user comments as usual. And something caught my eye that looked familiar:

She, and the two that took the form of 6 and Baltar (the two that were at the very end in our present-day Earth) were supposed to be angels. What I'm not sure of was when Starbuck achieved this 'angel' status. Was it after she died, and she ascended, so to speak? Or was she always an angel, since when that one Leoben (sp?) was keeping her captive on New Caprica, he said (as they pointed out in that flashback in the last episode) "I don't see a woman, I see the blazing glory of an angel of God" or something to that effect.

Just watched the last episode, thought it was a good sendoff to a brilliant series. Still confused about the Starbuck disappearing thing though, i'm guessing she was just an illusion, but to everyone? >_>

Good ending. I doubt every person didn't have a problem with the plan at the end.

Fuck that! Am I the only person that hated the ending?

Dues Ex Machina in its finest.

Fuck plot resolution, god did everything. Oh, and fuck the "lets break the cycle we have been broadcasting for 4 seasons", lets just abandon all knowlege (because its easier to learn from mistakes if you forget them right?) and all be scavengers and let the cyclic process go on again.

What a fucking rip. I want my 4 years back.

Fucking awesome ending, besides the disappearing astarbuck which had me a bit annoyed. Adama and Roslin at the end had me crying lol.
