I'm almost 100% sure I've gotten a 15 TP return shark bite once (11 from 2 Hits + Offhand, 2 TP more for each triple). Let me see if I can find the screenshot (and if it even shows proper TP return).

Edit: ok, found the screenshot but by the time I took it I was at 54 TP. So nothing concrete other than I distinctly remember it happening. Also went and checked a recent Byakko where I remembered getting huge numbers /DRK, but that was 9 TP (6 from first two hits, 8 triple, 9 double) which isn't what you were asking.

Pretty sure this is false, if someone's got some info to back it up I'd sure as hell be interested though.

Do you mean 2 triple attacks on the same hand? Or triple attack from mainhand + offhand? I get triple/triple on main/offhand all the time on Mercy Stroke sometimes, I can tell because it gives me a 13TP return (the damage is pretty ridiculous as well. 2900 on a Greater Colibri was my highest).

If you mean twice on the same hand, I've never seen anything to make me think it's possible, but on the other hand a majority o of my pre-mercy stroke days involved 5 hit Weaponskills while dual wielding, putting me close enough to the 8 hit cap that I might never really know.

Raging Rush+Active Amood (or Fortitude Axe), Normal /Sam Tp return=18 (16+1+1), periodically I get 20 Tp's, and once in a blue moon I get an ungodly freakish dmg 21 Tp return (like 1400-1600 from a normal range of 800-1100) so I figured you could double once per hit of a multi hit skill+double with Fort/Amood weapons during WS.

Rampage only allowing two doubles (5+1 off hand, 2 doubles lets you hit cap, but they can be main OR offhand) because its so many hits already.

    O.O

I do but Scythe isn't high enough for that WS yet.

I never considered mainhand/offhand as far as DA/TA goes. It's always "because it's multi-hit, you got chance more than once to make DA/TA proc"

slight OT because I am not quite sure about this :
Why do you guys call it offhand hit? does full hit rampage using Jugg/Man is significantly less damage than if you use Jugg/Ceremonial Dagger?

"offhand hit" refers to the extra hit that you automatically get on (physical?) weapon skills if you're dual wielding.

(perhaps i'm misunderstanding your question though.)

I was trying to ask whether these "offhand hits" damage are actually coming based on the base damage on the offhand weapon or whatever you have in main slot instead.

I know for a fact that my Rampage average damage went down a bit when I started using Maneater/Ridill (DMG: 49/40) instead of Woodville's/Maneater (DMG: 50/49) and I seriously doubt the only reason of this performances decrease was the loss of 4 STR.

Ah ok. Yeah, my understanding is that the damage from these hits are coming from the offhand weapon. It's not that I tested this extensively, though.

Yea I believe offhand hit damage is calculated based on the D of the weapon in the offhand.

I've never tested with a D1 on the offhand, though.

Yea, I think this can happen. I remember back right when COP was released and I was a recent 75 thf with pretty gimp gear I was fighting Abraxus and hit a 2.1k SB (sporting martial/guarda dagger without a brd no less). It was a triple off each hand. I felt strong.

    Too bad we arent allowed more than 8 hits per ws or else thieves would put up a lot of 9-10 hit DE's ; ;

Maybe thats why Mercy Stroke is 1 hit, so you can do super ultra megazord dmg when both hands triple attack.

i'm 90% certain offhand hit in ws is calculated with that weapon's dmg, accuracy, and attack. playing around with dagger/sword on thf and wsing mobs that are too high for my sword skill would usually net me base tp minus 1.

Just to reinforce it again, off-hand base damage definitely does make a difference. WS damage takes a really noticeable hit when off handing kraken on NIN or WAR.

I might've missed this... but did anyone try a single wielded axe rampage to see if it can DA more than once? I know that when dual wielding, a WAR/NIN gets 6 hits out of rampage, and that 2 DA is the max you can get out of that due to the cap of 8 attacks per combat round. It was believed that 1 DA came from main-hand rampage, and 1 DA came from off-hand swing... as opposed to both DA coming from the main-hand rampage.

And thus the believe that one-handed weapons can only DA once per hand.

But if a single wielded axe rampage can hit 7 times, then we can pretty much say that each attack from a multi-hit WS can proc a DA.

I did some massive skilling up with a schiltron spear over the weekend and cleared trial spear mostly solo. As war without any store-tp gear aside from brutal earring I noticed that every normal full hit penta would give a return of 14tp since normal return per hit was 10tp (never saw 11tp from a hit idt...). Every so often I'd get 15tp and a pretty good increase in dmg. A few times I'd get 16tp return and the dmg dealt was usually xbox hueg in comparison every time (like 350-400 14tp, 500-560 15tp, 640-780 16tp).

Out of probably ~1000 pentas, maybe more, there must have been only about six or seven 16tp returns while 15tp was a bit more common. Sadly I play on ps2 so I couldn't parse any of it but saw the return on every penta.

Never saw 17tp though... Looks like it's possible but only once in a blue moon lol.

I've single wielded Ridill and recieved TP return twice over the course of a 2h exp PT that would suggest I DAed twice in Vorpal Blade. The damage also corresponded to what the increase in damage would be like.

I never thought much of it though, because I never felt like looking into it further. That, and this was back when I first finished /DRG like a year ago, and was just for fun.

If it helps, I've gotten 2x DA in Impulse drive.
Regular Impulse Drive give back 21TP, and I got 23TP back while I was soloing @Kuftal, the damage jump is pretty crazy too, from 500 dmg regular @100~110TP to 1,2k dmg.
