.Hack GU

So does anybody like this game? I liked the 4 games for ps2, even thou they were kinda tedius(not to mention that you had to buy 4 games for the same story). But the new one is totaly better than the last 4, better battle system, more things to keep you busy instead of virus core hunting, and not to mention way better story. The music in the hack games is always extremly good to. The 3rd just arrived in Japan, and some CSs in youtube. So naturaly i could not resist and spoiled a bit for me.

I loved the first series, even though it was kind of boring near the end. (good story though..)

I might just wait until at least #2 is out here, just because I don't feel like replaying everything over and over again (I'll forget the story pretty fast, heh...)

However I thought the series leading up to the current set of games was greatly disappointing (mostly felt like nothing ever happened, no real plot to speak of that I could find, overall just found the series pretty boring). If disliked the series, is it a stretch I would dislike the games too in terms of story and content?

Yea Hack/Roots was boring, but the games are far better.

Roots was a very.. for the lack of a better word, dull series. There was a very deep story that drove it though.

The games reveal much more of the story and at a better rate than the anime did. Its worth playing, atleast I enjoyed it.

I used to be into this series alot in the past but then I kinda did a 180 and started detesting it. The anime had a very low quality to it and the story was poorly presented (in the original 2 series) Then the video games felt kind of bare.

I don't even want to give GU a chance even. Wasn't this one supposed to be MMO? Haven't they been promising this for a while?

That was Fragment, and give GU a try, im sure you will like at least the story.
