Quick question regarding endgame bows... I'm looking for advice from people who have, or have tried, Gendawa +1 http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/5727

I've been looking for one for a long time to replace my zomgEbow... and I have recently come across one for sale... I'd heard a while back that the significantly higher base dmg on this bow can outweigh the r.att and str bonus on E.bow...

I'm a pretty well equipped rng, and have the r.att I think to backup this bow... but would like a little input before I sell my E.bow to purchase this. Also, it's about 500k cheaper than E.bow, so taking that into consideration as well.

My main hypothesis is this: 6 base dmg higher on Gendawa+1, when supported with a heavy r.att and str setup would significantly outdmg E.bow on HNM/Gods.... Given meat, berserk, minuet to support it... Thanks for the input...

might pull out bigger e-peen slugwinders but you're missing the delay is 98 less on e-bow. ratt will also own base dmg in DoT unless you're using kclub/mkris/ridill for tp (doubt you'd use those on hnm though[i'm sure ppl will put exceptions for the local noob shell on their server here]). in long fights you'll get more arrows off with e-bow for more total dmg since the dmg/shot will be so close. which depending on your rational and gil flow many be a good/bad thing. imo if it was all about the base dmg you'd be trying to compare a bow to a gun, and there forums on KI for that.

If you're using K-Club, you're using Culverin (+1) anyways over Gendawa. Yoichi > E-Bow > others imo.

Because since it costs 20k it must not have any "magic hidden dmg cap remover." Has to be a tier0 HQ to do that.

I borrowed a friend's Gendawa +1 for exp a few times (in Ulleguerand Range exp, so IT mobs), and although it was pretty close to EBow (some very nice Sidewinders), it felt like DoT was a bit lower. No parses to back it up.

As said above, general census is Relic Bow > EBow > Gendawa +1, and I'm pretty sure some people posted the math to back this up, at KI RNG forums.

Keep your EBow.

On parser, Gendawa +1 netted me my highest sidewinder vs my Ebow (by like 50 points of dmg, lol), but on parser for me, Ebow outdid Gendawa+1 due to the faster tp which lead to more sidewinders over time (this was shooting for tp onry, no melee to test the bows). I don't have the parser results anymore from this test as I dismissed bows alltogether and went the KC + gun route for KC tp and slug shots as that has been more fun for me

i'm glad someone brought up the MCB thing, i always found that funny. people refuse to use it since it's so cheap it must be shitty i guess?

nothing beats the delay of the ebow, tis a beautiful thing. i had sold it awhile ago and have been using an sbow since but i was finally able to buy it back today (4.4m asura) and i dont regret it.

what others have stated is true, keep the ebow.

But really Gendawa+1 sells pretty often on my server for 1m no idea why but it does. I've PTed with a few rngs using em and was insanely unimpressed stick with Ebow Sbow or any of the other end game weapons.

Gendawa+1 *was* good just because of the sheer base damage combined with the oldskool RNG mechanics where we had a minimum PDIF of 1.0, combined with even lower penalties based on level skew.

Because of that, the r.atk on e-bow was largely insignificant, and Gendawa+1 was pretty nice.
