Something to consider for non rajas owners......

With the introduction of skadi pants it is possible for a gendawa +1 owner to sidewinder every 6 shots with 9 store TP, whereas it takes 13 store TP for ebow to go from 7 to 6 shots for sidewinder.

Skadi pants: 7
Brutal Ear: 1
Chiv chain: 1

Chiv chain makes up for the str loss of a triumph ear, so basically what you are losing is the 5 racc and 5 ratt of rangers neck (still using gorget for WS) in order to do your sidewinders about 13% more often.

This setup wont work with ebow unless you have rajas, in which case you can just use rajas, skadi, and brutal ear and keep your regular neck piece.

So if you do come upon some skadi pants and you chose a different COP ring, it is possible the gap between Gendawa +1 and Ebow shrinks. But without that situation the Ebow is going to win handily every time.

There's no pDIF=1.0 floor. At least, from my experience shooting aspid 2 yrs ago, If my pDIF=1.0, I won't hit single digit on it during Harden Shell

As other people said it'd be best to stick with the EBow, and I agree.

WS damage may be close but Ebow still wins in DoT, and any place you're not using DoT (aka kraken RNG or 30 second zerg) then Culverin owns all.

I think the Gendawa +1 had a better use before the gimpage of the Rangers, but after that it became just as useless as every other bow compared to an Ebow.

So to be clear, it's basically what everyone else said. The only bow that's better than Ebow is Yoichi. So stick with the Ebow.

Honestly, the mentality of ranger has always been "Powerful if you spend a lot of money on it" And thus: Rangers think that you have to spend a lot of money to be good. Conversely, people see Master Caster's bow 100k and think that the RNG is being cheap, and by relation, ineffective.

It's a good bow, so is MCB, But admittedly neither are an E-Bow.

I'm really glad that someone brought this up. This is an excellent point. Old school Gendawa +1 was awesome because of the PDIF floor, we as RNGs didn't have to worry about ratt as much. Even then I never saw a magical hidden effect of uber WSs. Just WSs shot from a Cannon of a bow. Present day, sadly enough, ebow seems to the bow of best use. With a bard, full ratt/str gear, meat I'm sure at some point Gendawa+1 begins to get better than ebow. As for now I'll stick to my overpriced ebow that I should have camped.

I love bow, it seems so natural, gun and crossbow seem out of place for me, I just cant get the touch down. When michaera outdamages me with obow it really annoys the tail off me, though I still win sometimes. I need some major tweaking, Ive got a good DD/WS ranger going, but I need to get a better fix on the best WS pieces.

What kind of gear are you swapping in for WS Sonomaa and what kind of merits you rockin on your rng?

You sir are correct. It is a good substitute if you don't have the bling for the ebow and can work really well if you gear yourself around the moon phases, but in the long run, ebow > Selene's bow.

Damn well said. I'm so tired of having the same bow that lvl 55 people have. I mean, yeah it's a great bow and I'm happy to have one. But can SE just release a lvl 75 super endgame bow? I mean with all the hell they put us through can we have something new? Cerb+1 is unrealistic (and I dont think its worth the trouble to get) Ifrits bow was meant for SAMs... Just for once I would like new items (Not rockin' the same shit from RotZ expansion... go go God Gear), easily obtainable (Salvage....), and a decent price tag/ or rare/ex. It seems that so many jobs are constantly getting newer and improved gear. Before I got an ebow I rocked Selene's Bow like it was going out of style. I was one of the 1st RNGs on my server to get it and I was happy, because it was a great addition to endgame arsenal. Damn you SE, damn you!!

Prz no more new bows. My E-Bow lost 30% of its value when Selene's was introduced and my Striders plummetted initially when the new Skadi Feet came out, too bad they're about 15x harder to obtain than Striders.

as for this bow yah its just bleh prepatch it was really good but now its pretty much just hot trash, Sbow>Gendawa+1 and ebow is just better.

When i got this bow i was like sweet then i used it and i just got pissed. 3 days later I went and got the Sbow and tried to sell this shit for months and months, i personally believe this bow is cursed and will never ever touch it again its nothing but bad news. I couldnt give this bow away even if i tried i had it for as low as 1.5M in my bazaar and no one wanted it then put it up one day and Bam money back in full minus the 500k i used to put it back up

I still prefer HF+1 over any bow (don't have yoich). I'm a mithra, so maybe the reduced str and increased agi makes a difference. DoT for HNMs is still limited by hate levels, so delay difference doesn't play that big of a role.
