Satou Tatsuhiro is a 22 year old man, who is a NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) and a hikikomori (meaning acute social withdrawal). He thinks everything around him is a conspiracy, including the reason why many people, including himself, become hikikomori. Satou comes up with this strange conspiracy theory which includes the Nihon Hikikomori Kyōkai (NHK), a secret organization with the intention to make the world filled with hikikomori. Satou wants to break free from the NHK's clutches, but cannot, since he finds it too frightening to go outdoors by himself; that is until he meets Misaki Nakahara, who selects Satou for this "project" to cure him of his hikikomori ways.

It's a "comedy" about an unemployed dropout addicted to drugs who is paranoid and do absolutely nothing outside anime/computer/pr0n. He is scared to go outside his apart because the world is a giant conspiracy against him, and the only way to beat the "NHK" is to completly isolate himself from the world. Originally Posted by Royal
Anime made me laugh pretty often, but it was kinda depressing (in a good way) at the same time because it's so true. Some part, like the one where he get addicted to FFXI kinda hurt to watch, because I know it sound/look like me.
There is a few recurrent subjects discused during the story like anime, hentai/hentai game, pr0n, works, lying to other, lack of motivation, leeching parents, addiction to mmorpg, suicide, drugs, getting scammed. That's why the comedy is kinda depressing to watch at time.
